How would we see it if it were a black hole? And if it functioned like a black hole, then how would it grow? It can crush solid matter, but I doubt it could do much to a liquid, or gas.

I suggest we toss asteroids at it until it breaks.  While doing that, develop the atom bomb back on Jethro.

So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

If it functions like a sentient black hole, it seems to have the will not to absorb everything, as it emerged from an apparently intact planet. Also, if it were to gain sufficient mass, it would most likely be compressed to a point at which its sentience no longer functions, at which point it is an entirely different threat, but at least it won't be actively pursuing us. It is clear that this is just a race of gravity manipulators who build their weapons to account for it. we just need to overwhelm their shells and damage the gooey filling.

you guys are forgetting that it has the ability to divide itself, so any attempt to outmass it would likely just make more of them.  Also an organic thing being crushed =/= blackhole.

This could simply be a craft that has a permeable exterior, and an internal atmosphere pressure of the gas giant it came from.

Let's create a small pod that contains nothing but an extremely high pressure liquid that burns at ridiculously high temperatures. Design it so that , upon breaking, the shell ignites the liquid. KILL IT WITH FIRE!

If sending wave, upon wave of worthless grunts doesn't kill it, then blasting it with highly destructive energy might!

You start to create a fleet at JETHRO. Of course, this will take a while to make, so you also invent the hydrogen bomb (Which was very easy to do so), and load several of them on Jethro's mind probe, along with better forms of drones. Right, time to take down some spheres.

You send Jethro's mind probe to Joshua, and wait for it to appear again. Soon enough it does, and you launch a hydrogen bomb at it, set to explode before it reaches the sphere, for maximum destruction. At first, you think it works. The sphere goes flying backwards, a large crater formed on it, but soon, far too soon, it gathers itself together. Scared, you launch the rest of the bombs at it, but it destroys them through a controlled burst of lightning. Your improved drones meet a similar fate, and you quickly decide to flee, as several bolts of lightning blast into you.

Once the sphere realizes what you are trying to do, it blasts the track in front of you several, trying to derail you. While you manage to 'jump' between the disconnected pieces of track twice, your third time was not so lucky, with the track floating just out of reach as you zoom past it. The sphere then pounds Jethro's mind probe with shafts of electricity, until it hits the fusion reactor, blowing it to bits.

Goons that can survive in space don't work, hydrogen bombs don't work, what now? Well, it's a sphere, so the only logical action to take is to create a cube with similar properties to the sphere.

Maybe it's a living organism, we could always try and infect it with spores.

Er, you don't know how that sphere is made.

We'll assume it has carbon. Why? Why not!

I do believe it was said that the sphere didn't absorb radio waves, or other wavelengths near that, so... long wavelength microwave based weaponry?

Create thousands of tiny creatures that absorb nearly all energy directed at them, and are capable of withstanding intense pressure, and send them in a cloud to coat the sphere, rendering it blind/deaf/whatever.
