Then integrate Tardigrade dna if we have it into the bird so it can survive in a vacuum. Albeit in suspended animation but it'll still be alive

Start off with tests, make a modified seed pod, catapault it into space, and see what has happened to it when it returns. Commence modifications and repeated trials.

Well I guess we probably don't but if we find anything like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade then we could use it very well

Harden the skin of the Wolftopus using some of the armor genes, then strengthen the muscles in the tentacles to be strong enough to snap a decent sized tree in twain. If that's too powerful, then make them strong enough to smash medium sized rocks.

I now also love Tardigrades.

ABSOLUTE ZERO! That's REALLY REALLY COLD! They can live through that!

An idea: a flame scuttler that has fire-spitting jets instead of claws.

I'm sure we could find a water bear. I mean, we are on the edge of the ocean, right?

We're on a planet with life, so it's safe to assume that there will be something as hardy as a Tardigrade somewhere on the planet.

After thinking a bit about how awesome a creature that could survive absolute zero would be and how you would like to find such a creature, you decide to experiment a bit with biological rockets.

RESULTS:

1. Bird dies when it reaches a point in the atmosphere where there is not enough oxygen to breathe. You make a note of how high up this is.

2. You experiment with seed pods being shot up into space, as high as you can go. With a few modifications, you reach a 100% survival rate, and show some random animals the joys of orbital bombardment.

You modify WOLFTOPUS, adding some armour plating and strengthening its tentacles, to snap trees in twain. It will need it, seeing as the Primpsks are attacking the spawning pool.

With their tentacles, the WOLFTOPUSES manage to kill all of the fire-spiting bugs before they can, you know, spit fire. Of course, their resulting deaths caused their insides to spew everywhere, covering everything in flame, starting a forest fire and destroying the spawning pool. At least all the Primpsks are dead as well.

In related news, you've managed to (passively) infect around 2% of the Primpsk population in that city underground through their parasites. You are sure it'll go much faster as the amount of infected Primpsks increases.

DRONES:

Advanced Scuttler: Stong, armoured, built to kill. Has incredibly fast, shrimp claws.
Scuttler: Armoured. Good all around. Shoots poison.
Gatherer: Make to collect and process DNA.
Light-bulb drone: Gives off light. Fast, but otherwise useless.
Scuttler Tank: Highly armoured. Not very fast.
Schoolbus: Carries crabs. Gives of light. Very large and heavily armoured.
Digger: Digs. Builds walls. Otherwise useless.
Primpsk drone: A Primpsk you control.
Primpsk Scout: Passively infects and scouts.
WOLFTOPUS: HALF WOLF, HALF OCTOPUS, HALF UBER-STRONG TENTACLES, HALF ARMOUR PLATING, ALL AWESOME.
Biter: Likes warmth. Hates cold. Adapted to bite onto things when it is cold.
Burrowing millipede: Digs. Biter dispenser.
