since apparently we can tell each other what we can do: ask frelock to crack open the keypad with his knife. so i can access the wires.

You ask Frelock to open the keypad: 1. He smashes the keypad open and gets shot with the agony beam. Meh.

You then begin poking around inside the keypad: 6. It shouldn't be too hard to get this door open. Just connect these two wires... shit. You've overloaded the mechanism. They should be unlocked now though.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Now that it's unlocked, try yanking the doors open again.

Now that it's unlocked, try yanking the doors open again.

3. You push the doors apart with minor effort.

You are now in a short hallway, identical in construction to the room which you just escaped. There is a window in one wall, and a door similar to the one you just broke on the opposite side of the hallway. There is an unlabled button next to the door.

how large is the window?

Pretty standard. Large enough to fit through.

Tell Number One to break the window.

Frelock punches the window: 3. It breaks. You look out the window. You can see miles upon miles of barren desert. The air is extremely hot. The window is protected by thick bars made from an unfamiliar dull yellow metal, you cannot get out even with the glass broken. Off in the distance, you think you can see the outline of buildings. There's no way you could make it there without supplies even if you did manage to climb out the window.

Look both ways down the hallway.

look up, to the ceiling, and down to the ground. what is the floor made off? also be on the lookout for hidden panels.

The walls are constructed of metal painted a light shade of beige. The pure color gives an air of sterility, of perfect, scientific cleanliness. The floor is similar, though it has more texture than the walls. The ceiling is also nearly identical to the walls, interrupted only by two small recessed light fixtures. The broken door leading to the similarly sterile room in which the party awoke is behind you, broken. It is made of what appears to be steel or aluminum, and unpainted. It is nearly devoid of scratches or fingerprints like one would expect to find on frequently-used machinery. Next to it is a small unlabeled black button, which would seem to serve the purpose of opening the door if it were not broken. On the other side of the hallway is an identical door, again lacking any fingerprints or scratches, and with an identical unlabeled black button beside it. The only disturbances in the perfectly even beige color of the walls and ceiling are the window, the doors, and the light fixtures. The air is very cool, though escaping rapidly through the now broken window. It is almost perfectly silent, the only sounds being the occasional sound of air conditioning or wind blowing past the broken window. It is so quiet you can almost hear your heartbeat, though any sound made by the party's movement is amplified by the hallway's hard metal walls.

Beige, the skull-white of colors. then let us commence with this vile experiment, but trying to play by our own rules. grab the knife and remove the button. it might come in handy. also: connect the wires underneath.
