I swear this is true. a few minutes ago, i created a modded bronze colossus adventurer with [CAN_LEARN] and a ridiculously strong punch. i embark at one of my old, failed right off the bat, fortresses. nothing to do, so i try to travel only to discover I'm trapped on an island. in frustration, i move rapidly between the two available squares. then, i auto matically go out of the overworld, like a creature encounter. for some reason, i spawn in a cavern, with the associated pop-up message. but more importantly, i'm a crundle! somehow, my bronze colossus has transformed into a crundle. screenshot below:

i have no screenshots pre-transformation, for fairly obvious reasons
this is probably the weirdest glitch i have ever encountered, and probably has something to do with alphabetical order
where should i upload the save, if that is necessary?

I can't find this exact thing, but this guy had a similar result from traveling in adventure mode.

I hit this problem myself. I found the HFS in one fort, decided to use it as a noble depository, it ended as expected. I went back down as a dwarven adventurer to get all the artifact weapons that were created over the course of the fort, grabbing the upright adamantine longsword in the process and laying waste to all that opposed me. I then travelled around killing ogres and goblin fortresses, but I hit a random encounter and ended up as a troglodyte in a cavern. I threw myself into magma.

this is a feature not a bug.
know the crazy zany stuff you can get into if you do this in a human filled town!

Can someone put up a save if they take control of something that can fly in adventure mode? It was fun in arena mode, and I kind of want to have a unit that can get to most places in adventure mode.

well you can add flyer onto a custom adventurer race if you really want to.
though swapping a creature would lead to another swap if you travel again.
this can be bypass by traveling to the last spot your creature was or never use travel also encounters in the wild(non civ sites) will lead to a random warp across the map if you lucky enough to warp to a above ground creature().

the game doesn't bother to check if you can eat. You just die and it is shoved into the legends.

You didn't try saving and reloading? It'd be interesting to see what happens if someone does.
