Honestly some of the rules here aren't made up by me, but I agree with some and disagree with others.
Shadow, your quote was okay, it WAS out of context and absurd, but it could have been better without the second two lines.
But even with those second two lines It still technically fits the criteria. I have no idea what they were talking about (besides an incident behind an orbital muffin factory, which presumably does not nearly explain the entire conversation), a vague interest to see said conversation, and did a double take at the words 'orbital muffin factory' (which I thought said cannon at first), followed by a desire to know what exactly happened behind an orbital muffin factory. The last two lines solved that last one (the act of hiding), but the previous three still have it fit the criteria. It still works.
Iceball3@ Those all fit the 'out of context' criteria, but they are a bit... lackluster, I think. Not really any amusement value there, to me at least.
And look, the thread has lasted for quite a while. I think it's doing fine. If you don't like a quote for some reason, so what? they are just words and will be gone in a click, replaced soon after by the next posters conversation of interest. If it suddenly becomes spammed by a large amount of dick jokes, yeah, that's not cool and I'll lock it for a day, but the out of contextiness is in a balance with the silliness. Too much or little of either makes it too long/confusing or just plain not worth the time. That's not to say it has to be silly, of course.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Look over what you post. Just because at the heat of a conversation it seems to be worthy of this thread doesn't mean it actually is. Maybe your quote fits better in another one of this boards topics? That's what they are there for.
I edited this post over about 8 new posts and damn it all if I'm revising it again. My internet is going wonky and I don't want to lose this whatever it is.
