Until now, I was unaware that Transparent was available; I used beige instead, which is visible if somebody uses Darkling.
I used white on the forum games section, because of the different background, but you could still see it. But I use Darkling now, so it's moot.
I found that white was slightly more visible every other post, whereas beige was pretty much fine.

this does not work if you're using that silly non-darkling theme, which is bad. that, or you're not logged in, one or the other really

It works perfectly well on my non-Darkling theme. And you can just highlight the text, you know.
It turns out that you can write a huge discussion in a quote pyramid using invisible text.

Once upon a time people made and kept promises to not have sex until marriage, and even when they did they did it with a partner they cared about, after rigorous dating.
