That's not a problem, you simply have to drown the tanner.  His sock is worth more than his life.

A masterwork clownite battle axe worth 122,400 dwarfbux right out of the forge.

I don't even want to know what masterwork clownite serrated disks would be worth. It would be astronomical.

Well, you didn't want to know, but here it is right out of the forge:

126 (base value of large serrated disc) x 300 (material multiplier of funmetal) x 12 (masterwork quality multiplier) = 453,600 dwarfbucks.

So an artifact version would be... how much, exactly?

Large, serrated discs aren't moodable items, or if they are they're exceedingly rare.  If they were, the lowest value you could get out of one made of funmetal would be:

(453,600 [value of masterwork disc] + 36,000 [value of one masterwork funmetal decoration]) x 10 (artifact value modifier) = 4,896,000 dwarfbucks.

However, I'm pretty sure the highest-value artifact item you can make is a battleaxe, which would be worth significantly less than the disc.

My most valuable non-artifact has changed now to an undecorated masterwork funmetal shield (97,200 dorfbux).  A far cry from what a masterwork large, serrated funmetal disc is worth, but I'm not wasting funmetal on something I'd never have a use for.

Greataxes, to my understanding, are even better than battleaxes for mood value if available. What's the value mod on one of those?

It's not on the wiki- I'll need someone to post a full description of one (value, material, quality, any decorations, etc) so I can work out a greataxe's base value.
