Yeah, it's very old. And long discontinued. If you can tolerate the need to log on, you can use Phyzios Studio, it's newer and has a (marginally) better interface.

Like DF. It's single-threaded, you have a multi-core.

Also, forget "marginally better interface", the new version of Phyzios is actually pretty neat. You can set particle resolution to 1 pixel, for example. Makes for neat-looking water, but eats up humongous amounts of resources. My only (major) gripe is the lack of an "eraser" material - you can't erase with the shapes or buckets that way.

... I can't get it to run. It gives me a "PhyziosStudioLauncher.application" file to download. I downloaded it, but when opening it gives me an error message: "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor."

Wait, what? It wants me to use IE instead of firefox? fuck this game. I uninstalled IE within 30 minutes of receiving my computer.

I found an addon that lets firefox start clickonce applications. I had to reinstall IE8, though...  :'(

Er...
No, I was just ignoring flashy pictures as usual, so I didn't notice the thing on the front page.
I was clicking on whatever's available after you register on /User/Home.aspx

Got it working, thanks. :)

Actually, there is an eraser material. For whatever reason there's both an eraser material and an eraser action thing.

In OE-CAKE, there is. The eraser action is to fix small mistakes without losing your material selection. The eraser material is for deleting large swathes of stuff using shape or bucket actions.

There's no such option in Phyzios. Closest you can do, use powder/heater, which will instantly disintegrate after being drawn.

Download from the link I gave, install, register at the site, run program, login with email/password. I don't know what it needs if it doesn't work after that though.

It crashes, or just does nothing? It should be bringing up a smallish login window when it starts. There's a FAQ on the site, which says you need .NET 3.5 SP1 installed to run it. Maybe it needs some version of IExplorer as well, I don't know. I'm on Windows 7, so most of those things kinda come prepackaged. :P

Any idea how to change the rendering style? It keeps switching back to texture when I try to set it to something else (properties window and engine->style menu).

Must be a quirk of the latest version. The earlier versions I used didn't have this problem.
