Update 29: Alien Retaliation
In mid-July, we recovered another Large Scout without incident.
Later that day, a couple of new recruits arrived and were assigned to the Lightning.
A pair of Medium Scouts was destroyed over the ocean by the Firestorm.
The UFO after was far more intimidating than the scouts, however – an alien “battleship”
The Battleship was detected already flying over Portugal, heading toward Spain and France.
All three aircraft at Evening Star were dispatched to intercept the Battleship. The Lightning was unmanned, to give it more maneuverability in a dogfight.
Both the Firestorm and Lightning caught up to the Battleship as it slowed down over France.
From what we could see on the Skyranger’s video link, the UFO was nothing short of enormous. It was a huge disc nearly 30 meters in diameter.
The Firestorm took the brunt of the damage head-on, while the Lightning weaved around to avoid enemy fire.
The Battleship was sturdier than every other UFO seen, but a lucky shot from the Firestorm hit two pods on its underside, causing it to tumble out of control.
The Skyranger touched down at the crash site near midnight, and we set out to capture the biggest UFO on record.UFO-50 crash landed July 23 in France

Naomh: Floater down, south.
Foley: Ship’s east of us, three stories high.
Foley: And…backup?
Max: Got it.
Max: Surroundings look clear.
Hal: I’ll sit here and provide backup.
The Poet: Me too.
Rion: How the hell did you guys miss that?
Rion: Another one down.
Haspen: When I signed up, they conveniently forgot to mention the “assaulting three-story high UFOs” bit.
Max: My scout’s getting shot.
Phantom: Don’t see anyone over here.
Phantom: Floater!
Foley: Already there.
Foley: Nothing else here.
279: Hey, I think this is the entrance.
Haspen: Somehow, I didn't imagine aliens as mini-dinosaurs.
Noa: But at least they’re easy to kill.
Richard: Alright, Psi team over here, others charge in.
Ronin: Wish me luck.
Ronin: Floater on the third floor!
Naomh: Got it.
Naomh: It’s in a room with four doors.
Naomh: Second floor is a cross-corridor with four rooms.
Ronin: Gravlift at the end here.
Haspen: Here too!
Noa: Hi
Noa: Bye.
Ronin: This place looks pretty beat up.
Jones: Nothing but smoke here.
Haspen: Intact engine over here.
Noa: Nothing but more smoke over here.
Noa: This seems like a perfectly pointless corridor.
Noa: What are these, coolant tanks?
Haspen: This is going to take a while to search.
Ronin: Hey, alien disco!
Jones: Why the hell would they have an empty room?
Naomh: Another Floater just came in.
Richard: Another one!
279: Don’t see any more.
279: There’s a maze of corridors out here.
Richard: Hey, another one. Who wants it?
Foley: Hey, this one’s a leader. We should stun it.
Foley: Huh…it just…died.
Naomh: Oh shit. There’s an alien with the Blaster somewhere.
Naomh: One in the control room!
Richard: This one only has a Plasma Rifle.
Richard: Aha.
Foley: Yeah, this guy’s got the launcher. Jones? Get up here.
Jones: Right. We’ve finished searching most of this floor already.
Foley: We’ve got them lined up.
Jones: Both out. Anything else?
Richard: Only my scout left.
Ronin: And done.
