Ways to signal other civilizations: Nothing says "We're here!" like a bunch of nukes going off. Arrange nukes in the shapes of arrows pointing toward the sun, in far solar orbit. Have them be at all different angles and directions (though pointing to the sun). Detonate 1 arrow a day.

Edit: Or arrange them in clusters of prime numbers, detonate in sequence. Again, in far solar orbit, I'm not talking about on the planet.

This reminds me of an interesting story. Also, it's likely that we're in a computer simulation right now. The world is just plain crazy like that. Crazy theories are even more crazy when they could possibly be true.
