So, any comments or requests for the map?

Also, answering eclipsetail's question from the beginning of the thread, yes I can also run this as a tabletop - virtual tabletop, of course. I can even try and code it into Flash. :P

You're REAL helpful there, eclipse...

Imagine you're playing the game, and planning moves for the units - what sort of info do you want to see when you hover the mouse over the units on the map?

Anything else?

Health may be a good idea. I am not sure about weapons, that is quite a lot of text to fit in a acronym.

This is lookin' good, man. I'll comment when I've gotten some sleep, but overall it's pretty damn nifty.

Mmkay, I've been doing some maths here, and it seems that for a weapon with +2 accuracy, the chance for it to actually miss a size 6 opponent is around 9%. And +2's are fairly commonplace, even if not predominant among ranged weapons. Yes, I know accuracy degrades when arms are hit, but that seems a little too much. I'd like to run a sort of a test battle between a pair of players and see if it's actually as imbalanced as it sounds.

Now, somebody pick either Colonists or Raiders, (since Mercenaries are still not done) and two units of the corresponding side. Each will begin the battle with one unit of each type, and the two units they selected. We'll play on this map:

      A    B    C    D    E    F    G    H    I    J    K    L
 1    1    2    3    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 2    4    5    6    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 3    7    8    9    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 4    .    .    .    .    .            .    .    ƕ    ƕ    .
 5    .    .    .    .    .            .    .    ƕ    ƕ    .
 6    .    .    .    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 7    .    ƕ    ƕ    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 8    .    ƕ    ƕ    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
 9    .    .    .    .    .            .    .    .    .    .
10    .    .    .    .    .            .    .    1    2    3
11    .    .    .    .            .    .    .    4    5    6
12    .    .    .    .            .    .    .    7    8    9

Red tiles are Colonist start zones, blue tiles are Raider start zones. When applying, list the units you want in accordance to what zone you want them to be in.

Colonists get:
1x L1 Adamant
1x L1 Tornado
1x L1 Enlighted
1x L1 Quagmire
1x L1 Unraveler
1x L1 Xenopath
1x L1 Zone
2x L1 units of player choice.

Raiders get:
1x L1 Wanderer
1x L1 Omen
1x L1 Heliotrope
1x L1 Buccaneer
1x L1 Mongoose
1x L1 Gemstone
1x L1 Defiant
2x L1 units of player choice.

I'm waiting. ;)

Prepost addendum: I'm considering adding Shield bonuses or Accuracy penalties (for incoming attacks) to some of the map features like the ruined buildings there. Should I? Also, should I keep fields green or limegreen?

You know, if I had some spare time I could do some sprites for the map.

No thanks. I won't be able to use the spreadsheet for assembling this thing then. It's difficult enough as it is, and I'd much rather not have to muck around with an image processing program to make this work.

Also, statuses up. Which suddenly strikes a fear in me: will it fit into the dreaded 40K character limit when fully assembled?
