Not a one way ramp. Unfollowable Miner.
« on: September 03, 2010, 09:24:30 pm »

My miner's have decided to do all of their work EXCEPT for two tiles I want channeled. They've channeled everything else just fine, but they've ignored those, and just went on to do the rest of their digging. They're now sitting around with "No Job". Any way to fix this?

Edit: They then preceded to quit working at all, and just sit in their psychodelic circle until they died of thirst.

Damn cultists.

They are dead now. What would they be used as, fuel?

If dwarves decided to live in trees like hippies, they'd still do it better than the elves.

Are the ramps set up properly? Maybe they couldn't get out of that staircase-circle dealio you've got going on there. Wouldn't explain why they stopped digging out the rest though.

Check to make sure you didn't accidentally invent a one-way ramp.
By sending more dwarves down.

I have invented a one way ramp. I restarted, and the same thing happened.

THIS HAS SO MANY USES.

!!SCIENCE!! at its best. I was under the impression that one-way ramps were a bug that was fixed with the release of 2010.

Do release the details of your discovery posthaste.

If you can make a task do itself without silly lever-pulling, it is infinitely superior to the silly lever-pulling alternative.

Sorry, forgot to tell people how to do it, will edit with details after I MS PAINT them.

Ok, so What I did was I made ramps that essentially just turned back on themselves.

Vertically, not horizontally as I drew.

The dwarves would go down them, but not back up.
