I like Duke Nukem & Doom equally. They were both some of the first games I ever played.

And sucked at too.

Just in case someone missed it.

Why does it say that was posted on 1 September 2010?  It's the same video he put out like a year and a half ago, when the last 3D Realms trailer went out before they shut down.  I mean, yeah, I get the joke, same game rumor same video herp derp, but it's not that funny a second time.  He didn't even change anything, and you'd think he'd have something to say about Gearbox taking up 3D Realm's hunt for the great white videogame.

It's the viewer's choice video. So it's a recast.

Oh.  Well, that makes it work then, people loved seeing Duke again.  I wonder will Yahtzee will have to say when he inevitably has to review it next year.

I liked spoony's preview of Duke Nukem.

I think the "Forever" in it is a pun on how long they want us to wait  >:(

Since Gearbox is finishing it up I have faith it won't be utterly terrible. I'm guessing it'll be a quality game, but not over a decade worth of quality. It'll probably looks like a good game that's been in development for a few years. At this point there's really no way they aren't going to be leaving a lot of people disappointed.

He must have, I have not heard anything involving that line in a humorous way for the past decade. In fact looking back I wonder how nobody ever made such an obvious joke.

And dammit, this thread always catches my attention despite me having nothing to grant to the conversation.

It seems like this is going to pull a Spore, where everyone thinks it's going to be THA BEST EVAR and then it turns out that all the unrealistic expectations didn't get fulfilled because they're impossible. Except Spore already did that, so everyone will think it will be THA WORST EVAR and then it'll turn out to be a fairly enjoyable shooter.

I kind of wish they don't finish it. I will always enjoy the joke/legacy of Duke Nukem Forever's development much more than I could ever enjoy the game itself.

Yeah, 10 bucks says it doesn't live up to expectations. I mean, it's been in development for, what, 15 years now? I don't care how good it turns out to be - nothing short of providing on-demand digital orgasms is worth a 15 year wait.

Every engine change essentially meant throwing out the game and starting over so set your expectations for only a few years of development.

I don't think that is fair to compare it to Spore.

People have 0 expectations for this game, no one even expects it to be released. If it actually does come out and is good, it will be a surprise.
