Modify rule #3 - addition: When you *support*, the text *support* must be in blue, when you *disagree* the text *disagree* must be in red. Otherwise it is not counted as a vote.

Think about it. lordcooper has to edit the OP to let us know what the current ruleset is. I've found that it's much more difficult to get new players to any game if the current version isn't immediately available. Please reconsider all support for this. What is the function of this rule in this game anyway? What purpose does it serve to us?

I propose all players must post a picture displaying delicious candy.

I will not cast a vote on this one quite yet. Dark Blue is hard for me to read in the darkling theme. Green and Lime Green are both good colors for a positive vote, imo, with Green being most readable on both Darkling and regular themes.

My proposal:
The initial ruleset will be numbered 1 through 7, and every new rule thenceforth will have a number that is one higher than the rule just before it.

As for some discussion... The fifth rule states: "It is only possible for an individual to vote once on each proposed change." Does this mean that people are disallowed from CHANGING their vote or that they can only cast one vote? I believe it was created with the intention of preventing one person voting an infinite number of times for supporting their rule, but the wording sounds like it might prevent them from changing their vote too. What do you think?

Purpose: no changing your vote sneakily. After every round all rules should be re-posted, that should take care of the not-edit-OP, or we could make an exception for the OP.

I don't see a problem with changing the vote, as long as it's done before the end of the turn, obviously, and the timestamp tells us WHEN the edit was made...

I AGREE with "The initial ruleset will be numbered 1 through 7, and every new rule thenceforth will have a number that is one higher than the rule just before it."

I DISAGREE with all the other rule changes so far.

I PROPOSE that "All rules proposed should be given a Name, for ease of reference", I name this proposal "Rules have names."

Players are not permitted to edit posts - SUPPORT. Even to fix spelling mistakes. Proofread before you post! However, there should be an exception for the OP - it will be updated each turn to reflect the new ruleset.

Players must post delicious candy - DISAGREE

Agreeing or disagreeing must be done in red/blue - DISAGREE. It's a PITA.

Initial ruleset will be numbered 1-7 etc - SUPPORT

Players cannot change their votes - DISAGREE. I think you can make a new post annulling your old vote anytime before the turn changes.

Amendment proposal to rule 5 (only permitted to vote once): Change text to: "Players may cast one vote each per proposal. If they wish to change their vote after casting it, they must add a new post where they declare their annulment of their previous vote and declare their new vote. If such a change is declared after the turn has already changed and the proposal's votes have been tallied, the declaration will be null and void."

Proposal to add a rule: Players must add the keyword: 'Bananasplit' to any post containing a proposal to add a rule to the ruleset.

Players may not edit posts: Disagree (would not have been able to voice my opinion in the same thread, others might have the same habit of posting and then editing, not being allowed to edit may cause severe spam)

Opinions must be color-coded: Disagree

Initial rules will be rules 1-7: Support, but decimals should be added to designate the amount of changes since the rule was added. 1.01 for 1 change, 1.02 for 2 changes.

Players cannot change their votes once posted: Disagree, but after lordcooper posts a turn changes to votes should not affect the latest turn. (basically the amendment to rule 5)

Amendment to rule 5: Support

Quote from: The ruleset
It is possible to vote on a proposed rule change by stating if you *support* or *disagree* with it.  In order to be counted, votes must contain one of those keywords and explicitly state which proposal/s are being referred to.

All these AGREE votes are invalid, I'd recommend changing them.[/b]

I support my own proposal  ;D  The main purpose of this is indeed to prevent sneaky vote changing.

I disagree with the delicious candy proposal.

I support the proposal by Siquo regarding colours.  Should make it a lot easier to tally up votes.

I support the proposal by Tylui regarding numbering of rules.

I disagree with the "Rules have names" proposal by Armok.  (No real need if the numbering rule passes)

I support the proposal by Africa regarding vote changes.

I disagree with the proposal by Blackdutchie regarding bananasplit.

Nothing in the rules says I have to  :P  Would be nice though, I'll propose an amendment to this effect next turn if it passes.  Nothing is preventing anybody from posting the new ruleset after this turn in the meantime.

Good question, and I guess it's open for interpretation.  Maybe we need a rule stating if rules only have the effects they explicity state or implied effects also apply.

I don't think this was an actual proposal, if it was can somebody quote it for me?

I disagree with the proposal by lordcooper that you may not edit your posts.

I propose a rule in which any form of agree is accepted for a support vote (Like yes, agree, support, like, etc.) and any form of disagree is accepted for a disagree vote (Like no, disagree, refuse, dislike, etc.) I support this rule.
