We're Vix the Sauron of many titles. Why would we stay by a broken town? Every good wizard lives in an unnecessarily huge tower that's heavily guarded for some reason conveniently located a few miles away from one of the best towns in the world. We either repair it so we won't be ashamed of being anywhere near it, or blow it up with the ice nuke spell. One gives an advantage, the other draws attention from Zion and Blacksmith, The.
Besides if we can outclass the mason guild the peasantry would just SHOWER us in gold, and resources.

Don't expect the town to be there for too long. Remember how our tower was almost undermined by the dwarves, until we showed them that we had addy? That's going on under the entire town, and dwarves aren't known for their positive inter-species relations or empathy.
