We either have to split 1 crysteel or get a crystal from something else for every small crystal thingie made. (currently have 18 crysteel, 0 crystals)

Try to make a crystal tree, using the same method as the crystal squirrels.

Trees grow slowly, anyway
Preferably a tree that grows fruit, obviously.

Anyway, Ye Your fancy crystal tree has leaves. you take one of them, and alchemize it with a reactive. The crystal jumps out of the pot and smashes onto the floor. It looked like it was expecting something. Maybe you should try getting a handful of crystals next time.
