pretty much, yeah. you could do that with basic Cryomancy too, you don't need to use alchemy to freeze small-ish stuff.

You aren't strong enough to lift the mecha-bench onto the alchemy equipment, and the two are right next to each other anyway. And since, if you only had one station you wouldn't have any work-related reasons to go SWOOOSH! over to the other one in your rolling chair of SCIENCE! MAGIC!

Mutate the plant. Nothing can go wrong with this course of action.

2 mutagens or 1? Too much mutation at once at low levels of skill could make it implode and spray goop everywhere, but you'll get at least #used +1 mutagens back if it does.

You suddenly have an Idea! Combining your magic unmelting glowing giant snowflake with your Rolling Chair of MAGIC!, plus a stabilizer to make sure it doesn't fall apart, you create a Giant Glowing Rolling Ice Throne of MAGIC!

...but its too cold to sit on. your cold-proof cloak of COLDNESS! isn't big enough to cover the whole thing. Its a bit darker in here now too, now that your magic lightbulb is part a chair. You think of trying to boost the glow with a reactive, but you don't know if that would damage the chair in the process, and you don't want to lose your new awesome rolling chair.

Cut off the last inch of the bottom of the cloak.  Alchemize with Ice Throne

just because the cloak is cold-proof doesn't mean it warms it up. you'd still have a cold chair, just with the bonus of not being able to freeze it more.
Its just cold enough to not want to sit on it, if he got a good cold-proof blanket that would work.
