Adamantium comes from Crysteel refined to great, not crystals.
crystals + reactives = Cryswarm parts.

this town doesn't have much of a scrap yard. its pretty much rust and garbage, that nuked village had more.

Take out portal, hop in portal, search for not brittle scrap metal, grab portal again, hop in portal, use metamancy to strengthen metal, make crysteel, refine crysteel to great, make addy.

Use our crazy powers to set up a portal between here and the nearest town with decent amounts of metal. If we are uncertain where that is grab the knowledge from the mind of someoen competent looking like the mayor maybe. In the meantime buy some fine high quality metal from the dwarves in exchange for some of your precious GOLD. Also buy some awesome ACCESSORIES, like a GCS silk pointy hat dyed midnight blue and decorated with GCS silk.

Anyway take the portal to the old town and grab any scrap that doesn't break upon grabbing it, use your metamancy to strengthen it when you get home then begin making crysteel. Refine the crysteel to great, make addy. ?x3 PROFIT!
Check on how sales at the summer outdoor ice rink and collect any gold people may have dropped.
Begin operation "look like a leader" by solving some of the major problems around town.
