Also, ever heard of mass spells or global spells? Like the theoretical ice age spell would be? And what exactly gave you the idea that controllng the climate would be easy anyway? The environment presumably produces constant mana, unless the absorption is something passive we do it shouldn't have any adverse side effects other than killing some grass.
