You compress a roomful of dirt into the bag of holding, stabbilize the new room (on the same floor as Subject Beta), and plant every blue flower you have in there.
You then try to remodify the blue flowers to live on the squirrels, but not all of the time, by boosting their photosynthesis. You plant it in a normal squirrel's fur, and the thing screeches, but you don't hear anything after about a minute. the other squirrels are acting like you sonic blasted them through a megaphone, but they stop after a few minutes, and the flower squirrel isn't dead yet! Progress!

The thing looks pretty bad, though. Probably only stopped because it ran out of energy.

You go back out and grab 36 leaves, then use all 18 remaining reactives to add on to the Cryswarm. It is now Cryswarm-81, and is starting to look slightly detailed. still can't do much more tha glide in the flight department, but telling it to Come , Hide, and Seek <object> seem to woork well, as long as the seek object isn't behind something. Attack changes it to Spider form and crawls up the tree, then falls on the target as a spikeball.

Try telling it 'Staff, sword, hat', to see what it does.
Also 'Hawk, Dog, Human'.
Maybe also tell it 'Bob' or 'Claw'.
For added giggles, command it to 'grow', or 'feed'. Maybe point it towards a flower or squirrel.


How many more flowers are there in the field outside?

Also, put the flowersquirrel(s) in a pen on the roof, so they get a lotta sunshine.

We have all the blue flowers nearby in the underground dish. theres a long tunnel with a few flat crystals used as mirrors reflecting the sunlight into the room so they don't die. theres about 10 ready to be harvested, but no seeds sprouted yet.

telling it 'human', 'bob', or 'claw' melts it back into a puddle, which seems to be the default action if it can't do what you asked.
'hat' makes a large pointy hat almost identical to yours. 'staff' makes a long stick with a semi-detailed top orb. 'sword' makes an almost intricately detailed short sword. 'hawk' returns it to bird form, but more angular in shape.

Keep the swarm in staff form for now, and try to capture a few birds. Freeze their feathers so they can't fly, then they should be easy to catch.

you tell the swarm 'staff', pick it up, and go to try to catch a few birds.
The cold blast you shot through the staff at the birds doesn't seem to affect the swarm. hopefully it isn't too cold resistant if you need to kill it later. but anyway, you manage to catch 2 birds. the rest flew off away from the cold faster than you could catch them.

Use a mutagen to merge the two birds.

With any luck the result will be a horrible abomination and a golden chocobo bird.

you throw a mutagen in your alchemy pot along with the two defrosted birds.
There is a big SPLOOSH!, and bird goo covers the walls.

Enchant our pointy hat to help us concentrate or something? And decorate it gaudily with adamantine.

Design automated turrets to add to our towers. They would be in peace mode most of the time, only shooting on obviousy hostile people but can be switched over red alert and shoot everything on sight except or you and people specifically identified as allies.

We don't really have anything smart enough to be turretlike, we either need a way to smarten the Cryswarm, or AI for the bots
(we need rank 10 Technologic to make usable AI, Rank 7 Technologic & Mechamancy for a basic computer. once we have the computer though, it'll be simple to get Technologic up to that )

Subject Beta is ready if you guys want to continue the sheep squirrel thingie.
