Alchemize cloak and pants.

Use just both mutagens. Worse case, it fails and we turn a useless plant into fun and delicious mutagens.

You drop a plant in the alchemy equipment, and drop both mutagens in with it, after preparing of course.
You chant the magic part somewhat correctly, but mess up stabilizing it and it implodes into goop. You scrape the useable 3 mutagens out, and place the container in the upside-down holder out the window for the goo to eventually fall out.

(Random.org gave me a 9 out of 20, and hes not very skilled yet, so it failed.)

While you did think it would solve your chair problem, you don't have anything else to cold-proof yourself with, which is necessary for a Cryomancer to have. You sit on your bed and try to remember anything about making clothes cold-proof.

A few hours later (and one or two secretly 'borrowed' winter cloaks from those at the tower bottom), you have a horribly combined, but good enough, cold-proof blanket. you cover your awesome chair with it and sit in it. still slightly chilly, but you're a Cryomancer-in-training, might as well get used to it.

Find a town full of children and offer to make it snow in exchange for their allowance. Find enough kids and that will really add up!

Sitting in such a grand chair reminds you of your lack of money.
One freak snowstorm could easily be explained away, its not fully spring yet, so you go up to the town park, and tell one of the kids your plan, making sure he remembers not to tell the adults. You ask him the next day (or one that looks pretty close, the town kids aren't that different to you) and he tells you they have 12 gold all together, though it'll all be in silver pieces with a few coppers. Good enough. You tell them to wait patiently until next monday (3 days from now), and he takes a smallish bag out of his backpack and drops on the ground in front you.

But what to do with the time until then?

Repeat plant experiment. Plants are easy to get.

He has to wait for the remains of the last experiment to go away first, or we could experiment with the goop (not on ourselves, obviously. they're plenty of subjects downstairs.). Or we could go grab some plants. either way, the alchemic equipment is not ready yet.

Well, Ok then. only other suggestion was to READ.

You return to your Tower, but are stopped by the peasants missing cloaks. You deny taking them, saying "I already HAVE a cloak, why would I steal two of them?". They grumble and let you go up the stairs. You then Grab your magic Tomes and read both, though not at the same time.

It is Night now, what should he do? There is a Town Garbage Heap on the outskirts of town, no shops are open at night in this town that you know of. The Town Park is likely empty, but there may be someone/something there.
