May I suggest for your new abode: A giant pillar of ice, magically cooled to as cold as we can resist, creating tunnels and rooms as we need them.

I suggest alchemising with however many of those glowing unmeltable snoflakes, then, to keep it from melting.

We only had one, the one we had stolen from a teacher after we were told to leave.
If we had better metamancy, we could make a tower out of stone just by pulling it out of our bag and messing with it. Or we could make more non-melting snowflakes.

Could we pull stone out of our bag and then get Bob to put it into a tower?

And help out however much we can with our limited Metamancy skills? Maybe squaring off some blocks or some-such?

Then you start grabbing stone out of your Bag of holding, making it square-ish, and giving it to Bob, who puts it on top of himself until he has a whole layer. He then puts it under your house, where you told claw to dig earlier. They can't burn what they can't see!
