Let's discuss music
« on: September 02, 2010, 08:26:24 am »

I don't know if there were any topics about music here, but it's about time to have one.

I can already see half of the board listening to metal.

Seriously, dude, chill out. I'd hate to see you go on a rampage just because somebody stepped on your foot.

Only when you're chill, listen to "The End" by the Doors.

I'm a 'poser', I guess, that listens to Metal. The screaming makes me feel good! Even though I'd probably be listening to rap or hip hop if I was a poser.

Ensiferum
Stormlord
Kalmah
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest

Then there's some other good music like

Caesars
Journey
Thin Lizzy
Flogging Molly

And this one Ska band on Newgrounds

As long as you don't say that metal isn't metal unless it has screaming or just act like a dick about your music you are a metalhead not a poser in my opinon.

Music that expresses the need to kill everybody, break **** up and kill yourself? I dunno listen to Death or some band.

Something about this just seems incomprehensible.

At any rate, I only ever listen to Classic Rock. I memorize bad pop and death metal songs to annoy people.

Isn't the entire Horrorcore Rap genre devoted to what the OP wants?

You could also try some Soundgarden, if you want the heavy meaning but not the heavy instruments.  "Burden In My Hand" isn't so much angry as it is just sitting back and commenting, but "Blow Up the Outside" is more the kind of 'fuck y'all' I interpret you talking about.

Alice in Chains can also suit a few people in the angry/sad zone.  Again, not quite as rough as death/black/whatnot metal, but it's fairly harsh.  Vocalist takes some getting used to, as he does sound like he's whining occasionally.  Some songs more than others.

Of course, there are really any number of bands you could listen to for this kind of thing.  Good music comes from having a lot of shit stacked up on your mind, so a lot of songs deal with variations on the subject.  It really just depends on what kind of music you tend to listen to, and what would suit you best.

I mean, Pink Floyd is great for melancholia and hopelessness, Zeppelin does a fair number on relationship issues, Black Sabbath has a couple items for loneliness...

And Dire Straits goes on about the trials of being in a band.  Needless to say, a little searching can get you some very specific areas of expertise.

Hey, can someone give me a few pointers to music that expresses the need to kill everyone you know, then killing yourself, then break sh*t down (In any order) ?

I'm a little angrish today, but outside of that I'd like to discuss music.

Judas Priest's Better by You, Better than Me.  Yeah, Google it, I don't care.

Nice. I got some sleep, and listened to some Korn beforehand.
My local music stations have absolutely nothing good as of late.
And then I saw a music video of a girl singing that she hates guys Oh God!

1) Anyone know about the upcoming Korn album?
2) My pal likes ensiferum, anything like it?
