Aye, that's the problem with it. It's melee range always on offense, with Silver Shield its one of the few, if not the only, damage reducers, and even if you kill them, it still has a chance to kill you with the after effect. Nothing else at lvl 20 comes close to doing half that.

Heh, I had no idea I was picking an overpowered skill when I picked it. I mainly got it for the damage reduction and to prevent being knifed as a sniper though.

Lately I've taken to sprinting through groups and shotgunning them. 90% of my kills come from the shotgun, but im sure the blades help too. I still play a sniper on maps that are sniper friendly, I just go shotgun crazy when there aren't any good sniping positions.

I play with a build with a sheild, a bullet reflect. and tend to use machine guns.
I find it works well against anything but snipers and of course blade shield which I find immensely irrateting because they can take a hell of a lot of punishment before going down and it gives them enough time to stroll through my fire and cut me to shreds.
I've no problem with guys who appear out of no where and gut me with a knife or a guy who kills me from the other side of the map with a sniper because they take skill to use.

I alternate between the Spaz-12 and M60. Spaz-12 when I'm trying to get the flag, since you can run fast with it. M60 when I need the firepower.

Also use the sniper rifle when on a map that its useful. It works great for people with blade barriers, since it does enough damage to cut through the damage absorb.

Currently, Plasma + Vaporize is Overpowered, at least barring Friendly Fire being off. Its even worse then Blade Fury, since 3 people can lock down a base so you can't even MOVE from your starter shield without dying.

If SS and plasma are nerfed, the force barrier will probably be the next big thing. It protects from quite a bit at high level and does heavy damage to your opponent, plus the bouncy bullets seems effective at point blank range.

I'm having quite a good time with this game. I have two mutants with moderately fucked builds, at around level 11-12. I have a new one specializing in venom shot. You'll see me around the game, for sure.

No need. I-K started 2 or 3 dedicated servers, nobody ever went there. We don't want to end up splitting from the main community either, since we make up like 40% of it atm.

I make a motion to create a Dwarf Fortress themed map.

My initial thought was to make Boatmurdered. Then I actually looked at the last map they posted of it on the LP archive, and reminded myself that I'm not quite THAT crazy yet. I may try, but am open to suggestions.

I am currently making a map but not DF based, I call it labyrinth because it will be sorta. Currently its only part way done.
