I guess the lack of players is contributing to the lack of players.

People still play, you just have to check back often. We are playing right now, actually, albeit on a pretty bad server.

My issue with Subvein at the minute is the massively overlevelled players. Shit like people who have 30 in blade barrier and are therefore invincible. I preferred it when you levelled up round by round and it didn't carry over.

The new penalty system is working on that glaring issue. There's just no chance for lower leveled players, I can get scores like 26-4 on players around level 30. I am level 61.

Anyway, new patch is set for this week. Will be reducing the overall weight skills have in battle, as well as making them all somewhat more tame. "Respect" will no longer be a set number that increases healing/vision, but now it is more of an ELO rating for quickmatches, which is the mode you are talking about where skills don't carry over.. The creator of the game is trying to get players to play that mode some more.

This, along with some major rebalances, will make next version far more interesting. The current version has been dominated by Force Fields, Bullet Time, and Static Charges. The versions before that, Blade Fury.

Subvein is back and has tons of players in the game now! It's been renamed Mutant Factions and is on Greenlight. Once it's on Steam it should have a constant population as it's certainly the best free top down multiplayer shooter around. I hopped in Ben's All American server and it had three Bay12 members in it randomly. The other players remember Bay12 there and we should represent back in the game with a swarm of friendly players. Say hi to the dev Bencelot whenever you see him.

   Can confirm, was fun and there was a lot of Bay12ers randomly on. I will have a video up soon enough after some editing. Not exactly my best as I am definitely not good enough to talk and play. Also the zombie mode is really fun to play even with just a few players so even if there are only a couple people on its interesting to hop on and give it a go.
