Even if it that were true - and I'm pretty sure it's not - beholders hate the fuck out of each other. (Admittedly, I'm not entirely up on beholder subspecies, but I'm fairly certain basic beholders don't have an enrage effect on their eye beams.)

Sorcerer Beholders cast their sorcerer spells via gaze attacks. Therefore it could cast Enrage on something.

beholders hate the fuck out of each other.

Goddamn bats. They charge you like noone's business(Fierce), and they come 20 at a time(friends).  People hate them(RAGE!!!!!!), and people sometimes dodge into something dangerous because of them(fear).
