I was wondering whether QFQFQFAS or QFQFAAS is the most powerful beam and it turns out it's the latter.

In my experience QFQFQFAS has a higher DPS.

Interesting. So, basically, the Arcane element is just there to make it a beam attack, and more than 1 Arcane is a waste of your time. Once you get to the single-Arcane combos, the DPS values are basically the same (there's a ~3.2% improvement from the QFAAAS to the QFQFAAS DPS, with QFQFQFAS almost exactly in the middle).

I'm pretty sure that extra arcane elements don't add to damage, but they do extend the duration of your beam. As far as I've experienced anyway.

Works perfectly for me and my friends. We've done 4 player sessions through the entire game twice now. It gets crazy when you have all of the magick unlocked...

Well, it's a known issue that clients regularly CtD after the last stage of the mind duel against Grimnir. Happened to me three times already, so... yeah.

Good news.  I can host without Hamachi, and seem to have a good enough connection to host PvP.

Other good news.  PvP is awesome.  With the mixing of elements and the lack of health it's everything wizard dueling should be.

I'd test the beams against someone which is actually heavily armored, tough, etc, as well. Forest or War Trolls, for instance, might be a good test subject than Vlad. That's what I was testing them on originally.

I attempted to test them against armored goblins, but Magicka did this during my testing. It happens any time I play a video and don't reboot before running Magicka again. Turns out it also happens if I alt-tab away from Magicka to view a video (which I had just recorded in Magicka in this case) and then alt-tab back in.

Trolls aren't armored, they just have much less HP than Vlad and regenerate, thus distorting the damage numbers.

Vlad is a lot tougher than a Forest Troll. A Forest Troll has 6000 hit points while Vlad has 40 Million. You can't even hold your beam on the troll for the whole duration of it because it'll explode way too early.

I was figuring it based on how far the troll walked across the (modified) arena (set up to spawn three trolls from the east gate in a row 10 seconds apart) from a set starting point towards me before exploding.

Of course they end up exploding rather near the same spot.
