I don't have a router so we shouldn't need Hamachi if I host.  I don't have hamachi and it tends to make my internet act up, so I'd like to see if I can host before we go that route.

Which part? The instakill, super-fast yetis snow trolls? The teleporting dwarves? (Don't you wish DF dwarves could do that?  ) The incredibly accurate Beholders? The desperate walk across a rapidly-defrosting magma lake while fire drakes blast you? Or the annoying (if easily-glitched) final boss?

Yeah, I spent more than a few attempts trying to beat that level. 

(Protip: If you aren't using it, D-E is your friend. Especially against those goddamn snow trolls. Nothing like lasering something to death while it's uselessly pounding away on a rock wall!)



In other news: anybody up for online play someday? I picked up the game a few days ago, and have been loving it... but online play seems largely dead. As in, I checked this afternoon and found two games, both 1/4 and password-protected.

They die horribly if you get them wet before they teleport, you know.

A lot of people are interested in PvP, actually. There's a tournament Saturday (tomorrow/today) which starts in about 9 hours.

Thing is, you can usually see snow trolls come from a small distance. This should be enough to first spray them with a water beam, then a cold beam to freeze it. Follow up with a cold lightning beam and you can just blast it to death while it stays frozen.

If it's several, it becomes somewhat more trickier, though theoretically you can do the above tactic using Area of Effect spells instead of beams.

When you get invisibility, though, you can just ignore them.
