I know. Gotta get behind someone that basically is laughing at the production process as they're promoting the game.

This is my favorite among the trailers. Especially at the end when the troll casually knocks Green off the bridge.
Why do all the good games come from Sweden these days?

Can anyone tell what game the music between 00:10 and 00:20 is reminiscent of? I'm sure it's a game I played a good bit but I just can't remember the name. It's driving me nuts not remembering it.

Here's another trailer for you.

Warning: Barely concealed man-ass detected in this video.

Game says it's out this quarter, although I've yet to find word on where exactly it's going to be offered.

Ooh not just this quarter, the trailer says January 2011. That's exciting if it ends up being true. Thanks for the link!

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

If they're doing beta right now I'd be surprised if it's out before February. If they do actually get it out in January mostly bug-free then hey, respect. Well, I guess they already delayed it, but still.

The beta was announced mid-November. (I missed the announcement. But you had to register on FB and take a picture of yourself wearing a robe, so it wasn't just as simple as signing up.)

What has me disturbed is the game is mentioned nowhere for digital sales. That's usually not a good sign on your release month.

Eh, not necessarily a bad sign, they might just not be doing pre-orders?  I dunno, but I've definitely seen good games that didn't show up earlier than release of digital retailers.

Man it looks cool though, I don't see how there could possibly be a spell that goes with every single five-unit combination of elements, with "Dual" elements (Steam, ice, etc.), that just seems is way too good to be true, that's not actually true, right?

Everything I know, I learned from DnD 2.5.

There are plenty of para-elements.

Smoke.
Steam.
Mud.
Lightning
Ice

I imagine it's like this:

Water + Air = Ice.

Ice + Fire = Steam.

Air + Water = Lightning

Lightning + Fire = ?

There are more than just the 4 elements, and you can combine more than 2. So that opens up the possibilities pretty broadly. Whether or not it makes gaming sense remains to be seen. But the examples they give seem pretty straight forward.

I think he said one of the elements available was cold, which was used to create ice.  So that's a little different, it also looks like from the images there may be a "Shield" element?  None of the videos are high quality enough to really be able to tell...

Looks pretty kickass in any case.

Oh hey, I just noticed that right at the end of one of the gameplay videos it said "Obtained a Staff of Fire" yay!  This means you actually do get new equipment and such, the one thing I was worried about is a lack of longevity, if you don't get new equipment and such and it's just the same thing in different areas.

Also I'd like to point out how cool it is that they got rid of the whole "melee swing swing swing" thing which is visually boring. It's like Shadow of the Colossus cutting out all the crap monsters, the Lankhmar books where you only ever came across powerful magic items but they were rare, or if someone made an MMO with a "skip grinding" button.

Hopefully the game isn't just repetitive lame humor ... I'd really like to see it start out poking fun at generic fantasy games and then develop a little as it goes on.
