Just popping in saying I've been playing this the last few days. Right now I'm a level 16 warrior and I'm in game as Denzi. Please give me a shout whenever the clan gets sorted out and I'll hop in with everyone else, this is fun so far :)

I've always wanted a MUD/MMO to play in my free time. Did join Medievia once, but I thought that it'd need too much grinding.

Okay guys, I confirmed that my problem of not being able to connect to the server is because my landlord only open ports that are needed to surf the Net. He may allow me to open ports to play MUDs, but does playing MUDs use a lot of bandwidth? As in, how much per month, approximately, if I play 2 hours a day on average?

It's all text only, so it should be a very small amount of bandwidth, really. I believe a lot of people can play MUDs over dialup without much trouble. I can't give you an accurate estimate, though. Just tell him it takes far more when people surf to Youtube. :P

I remember trying this game once years back, but I didn't play it very long. MUDs didn't hold my attention long, being a teenager. Plus, yeah, it was grindy. :P Sounds like it's changed a lot since then, though. Maybe I'll try it again sometime.

MUDs take up very little bandwith, I've had downloads going at full speed and my MUD speed wasn't impacted at all.

If i had to guess i would say it uses less bandwith than your browser. certainly less than watching a video on youtube or the such

I used to play this game constantly back in the late 90's prolly til about 2003. I ran the herbalist alliance(yeah we were the stoners of the game) with one of my best friends. I left before ships came into play. I was living with about 8 other peeps in a row home at the time, and when we threw parties, vryce would occasionally stop by and chill. I loved that game but one day a clannie cried to a god about me cursing on clan channel. I caught some heat for it and got pissed off, and ended up flippin out on the imm channel. I knew I was gonna get banned but I just didn't care. Never went back but it was a really good game. While it is true they used dikumud code, I also think it should be pointed out that they've done things to that code that really made it their own. It may be diku deep deep down, but they do deserve some credit for how much they've expanded upon it. And I've never seen a mud that was better.

Meh. I've hit a roadblock at level 21. There are never people on willing to form up.

I was on a trade route and I saw symbols that looked like red pine trees, being smart, and having a pack mule, I went around them, being me, I tested going into one and guess what? Killer trees.

Those are haunted trees. If you take a trade mount into the same room as one they'll be destroyed; the trade mount that is.
Friendly ghost riders spawn once they're destroyed though, so they're not all bad. They don't move so they can be exterminated at your leisure. They all spawn with infinite length sanctuary so they're  a bit lengthy to kill though.

Also, about the clans, join or don't join, I need a decision.

Do either or both of them have boats? If they both do I say we join the one with 36 people, so we have room for everyone.

I was just attacked by lions, needless to say I died.

I'm loving this :)

EDIT: Removed part about one of them having CPK rep, read it wrong.

Autoquests are hard, especially if you don't know the zone like the back of your hand. Don't expect to finish every one of them unless you have experienced help.

Wiki might help with AQ's and zones.

Though a lot of quests and zones are missing still.
