I would say MudMaster would likely work fine in Wine. I have no internet connection on my Linux machines right now or I would check.

What MUD isn't, except for the strict RP-enforced ones?

I gues I wil pass, i made a character but I don't feel like grind-typing anymore. I wish someone would make a MUD with fun features that was NOT about XP or money grinding. Maybe just do an Eve-Online style progression? I don't know, games are boring, maybe I am getting old, or boring myself.

You can get tons of XP from doing zone explore quest things, ones a level or two below me give almost enough to level me once.

mm.. its grindy in that you keep having to fight things, but its not grindy in that you have to stay in one place..
I'm just going zone to zone with stops at towns inbetween.. you do the objectives in the zone, you gain a level... [since its 2X experience, and doing a zone built for your level nets you 1/2 the xp required to level]. it's not -that- bad, in that your constantly exploring new places with new creatures.

Keep in mind that training requires 35 practices unless it's your class's primary stat, where it only costs 20 practices.

    WARRIOR = STRENGTH, STAMINA
    CLERIC  = WISDOM
    THIEF   = DEXTERITY, STAMINA
    MAGE    = INTELLIGENCE

I've also got tons of stuff I'm overly eager to give away. So if I suddenly pop out in front of you, look you over, and start offering you things like balls or rods please don't run away.

Edit: I just got an offer from Zaph, a representative of The Knights Templar who seems willing to take us. How do the rest of you feel about joining a more active clan?

Clan Name: The Knights Templar
ClanTown:  #219 - The Knights Templar Clan Town
Clan Leader: Stryel - Zorn's personal Mage of KT
Clan Co-Leader: Aeriada
Sister Clans: 56-Crimson Crusaders
Members: 49
Loan Balance: 0
Daily tax paid to leading clan: 0
Available Fae: 2,437,885
Political Party: Order
   Clantown Rating: 28 (10)
    Trading Rating: 25,550 [8]
        Exp Rating: 1,544,160 (11)
        Eq  Rating: 1,000 (15)
        Egg Rating: 3,842 (16)
   TownGame Rating: 1,380 (4)
        Fae Rating: 9,503,982 (14)
   Townland Rating: 2,819 (7)
      DMCPK Rating: 0 (26)
 CPK COMBAT Rating: 0 (25)

They're a fairly active clan, and you're far from the only newbies there. They seem to dislike CPK or at least are inactive in such so you won't have to worry about that.

Only problem I see is that there can only be a max of 50 people in a clan at once right?

I suppose, there might be room in their sister clan though. "Showclan 56".
