Okay, sorry to leave us languishing.

I've updated the top post.  I probably need to fix the schedule, but I'm still unpacking from my roadtrip.

Bayar, I'm assuming that you're playing your turn now, right?

I'm told that dealing with the designs of previous builders is part of the "fun" of succession games.  So.. make it work.  Or wall stuff off and redesign it :P

I'd also just like to point out, for anyone who forgot, the point of this succession was to have folks involved who are new to the game.  Hence "mistakes" and fort oddities are part of the "fun".

The pit in front of the fortress will prevent traders from reaching us

There seems to be a door a couple of tiles above that pit.

Can I join really, really late?

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

I may be up to 15 hours late in getting the save, due to timezones.

Going to stick to the schedule, even though it got a little muxed up.  I think bayar is playing his turn.  On the 10th I'll pick up where he left off, and we'll go from there.

Okay, I swapped you with me.  You're next.  Bayar's turn (if he's still with us) is over tomorrow, so you'll pick up on the 10th.  If bayar uploads a save, you'll grab that, otherwise, you'll grab the last one from goodguy3.

I should be able to jump forwards, if you want.
Edit again. No, in fact I'm not going away next weekend, but the week after. My GF can't tell the date. :)

On the left a cannon which shoots dwarf children into the sun, on the right, a massive pit full of magma charred dwarfs and elves.

I think the schedule is updated, I'll doublecheck this evening.

Also, unless bayar shows up in the next few hours while I'm at work with an update, I'll grab the last save from goodguy3 and get started on the fort.

I never even saw the club, but my head aches like a hundred goblins are banging around inside it.

I'd been traveling to see my great uncle at a fort who's name I cannot recall, when I was joined in the wilderness by a few dwarves who claimed to be from a nearby fort and were out on reconnaissance.  I leaned down to scrape out a firepit, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the darkness of the earth on a rough-hewn bed.

It seems I've been taken captive!  Apparently these dwarves are in need of a foreman, and the last two who were supposed to take over have both fled into the wild after a moment of surveying the fort.  I must admit that I'm intrigued, I've never been offered any kind of management position before.  Though I wonder and worry just a bit at what drove the previous two fellows who were supposed to oversee the fort into their flight.

Still, I've agree'd to stay here for a year and oversee things, at which time I'm free to leave.

I suppose I should go and have a look around at what I'll be managing.
