Well, it probably wouldn't be that bloody if it came to it. Just throw a couple of thermobaric weapons into each fort and they're pretty much screwed.

Urist McEveryone has died after colliding with a wall/bleeding due to fire
u forget dwarfs build walls that cant be destroyed...

Alright them smartass,( :P) if you want to go about it that way, just disguise it as a blue coloured barrel and write "booze" on the side. then it will get to the most protected part of the fort all on it's own.

I hope the ability to ascend to the heavens and slay the gods will become possible. Then you colonize heaven, and hell. :D

Then open an inter dimensional rift, and colonize earth while you're at it. O:

The most frightening part is when i first read it was easy to imagine them actually doing that.

someone should actually mod in a bunch of rocks which are always super-hot, with only a couple of types of clusters that are dwarf habitable.

do you mean fired?

if your referring to horizontal (not up/down) then yeah, that is sorta modeled. Just you can't go up/down afaik.

Yes.

 But thats the same as saying "Anything can fly. Just in one direction - down"

to actually fire down it needs to have acceleration greater then that of just having gravity pull it down.

Consider investing in a hell-chimney, to let those flying demons get some fresh air. Seal off your above-ground exits and turn your fortress into an evil citadel, slaying all passing caravans and the resultant sieges.
I wonder if caravans come in or exit through hell? I've had caravans exit through caves at least, but none come in that way.

My last fortress was located in a demonic fortress in a world with no demons. Unfortunately for the caravan, at the time they wanted to leave there were some goblins on the surface and everything was closed up.
So the caravan decided to go through hell and started descending to the lower levels of the fortress. Sadly I didn't let them continue - the goblins just left, clearing the way, meanwhile some FB appeared in hell.

so does hell behave like a cavern of slade, with glowing pits instead of water?
