Your 2 dies off, at least you had a bit of a buffer.

The hunt brings (31*2/2=31/2=15) food and (31*4/2=32/2=16) bones.

4 will hunt while the other 4 breed, naturally the highers go hunting...
Meanwhile Master Thief will visit Irony and see if he is willing to hand over the new shiny toy that hes got... Also grab his bones as well, and heck if that all works off well, lets grab the food too... ^_^ I can do that right.??

One thing at a time...

The hunt gets you (26*3/2=39) food and (26*3/2=39) bones.
 Breeding results in a 4 and a 9.

Finally, the Thief makes a grab for Irony's shiny item!!! (50*6=300) vs (67*5=335), failure!

It increases his effectiveness in combat, thievery isn't combat.

His is 67 because he has his warchief.

From your Rules...

Quote
-From a camp: You may steal either food, bones, or a single item from a enemy camp, when you do this the Master Thief's effectiveness is multiplied by 5 and compared to the enemy tribe's CE. Modified just like in attacks.
Items can increase CE of the thief, how much is determined by the item.

Whats the point then???

There are magic item affixes that grant effectiveness specifically to thievery, and a fine amount. See that last game for its ninja buckler.

I'll break it to ya, I'm trying to use a general term for this sort of thing to ease perception. It's a mouthful to say 'Collective Effectiveness' every single time. For thieves, it's 10+thievery specific item effects*5.

And thus it comes to the fact that the Master Thief is only effective in the FIRST two turns... The rest of the game you roll the dice hoping for a Special item for him alone...

Everyone forgets he can steal from town...
Yeah from town, when suddenly 2/3 of my tribes CE is nearly once again more then the Thief... Clearly to be safe from others I need to breed, uping the CE, but in doing so makes it impossible to bet when stealing. Its with a D6 right even 300 can't beat a result of 4 when the CE of the tribe is higher then the Thief...

I picked the Thief to work out where he can go wrong...

Right... I just figured out a way to change this issue. AND I've found a way to make the Shaman useful.
Hopefully next game the sub-leaders will be more balanced.
