There was significant evidence of it existing.  He fabricated two videos for it.  Both of which purported to show early gameplay.
Megaman 2.5D was a hoax/lie and it was made entirely in flash/video or something,I don't think it'd be that hard to do something like this.

Yeah, it's not that hard to make a mockup via flash.

So because it's possible for someone with way too much time on their hands to fake a gameplay trailer doesn't count as evidence of something's existence before we know it's fake?

AGH I'm having a hard time parsing this sentence. I'm gonna go with... maybe?

You seemed to agree with the guy who seemed to be saying that a gameplay trailer was not evidence of a game's existence before it could be faked.

Ah. No, I was just saying that it's easy to make a mockup of this sort in flash, not that I agreed with him in total.

Strict moderation just leads to a pocket totalitarian dictatorship where anyone with a different opinion or values than the majority is outcast by the authority.  It's no longer a discussion forum at that point.  Just a board for posting whatever the acceptable types of messages happen to be.

what part of 'discussion forum' implies 'democracy'

we're here to discuss whatever is within the personally-mandated rules and guidelines set down by the admins (of which there is one and only one, self-elected and appointed for life) or moderators, no matter how arbitrary, convoluted, heavy-handed or alternatively non-existent they may be

this forum has been and always will be a 'pocket totalitarian dictatorship' because it's Toady's forum, and whatever he says is always what's going to go

I don't think you know what democracy means...  A democracy is a system wherein everyone (who counts as someone in the eyes of the law) is allowed an equal vote.  One for one.

That has nothing whatsoever to do with what I was talking about.

Obviously an internet forum as a community is a dictatorship.  But once again you don't seem to understand the words you're using.  A dictatorship is just a system wherein one person holds absolute power without it necessarily being due to heredity(which would be a monarchy).  Totalitarianism is something separate.  It's the control of thought.  In a dictatorship the dictator has the final say.  In a totalitarian dictatorship the dictator has the final say and allows no dissension.

In other words, Bay12 is a dictatorship.  The Bethsoft forums are a totalitarian dictatorship.

I don't know why you claimed he didn't know what democracy is about when in no part of his post does he talk about what democracy is about.

The first thing he said in that post was either a complete non sequitor or strongly implied that I thought an internet forum was a democracy.  So either he's trying to insult my intelligence, or doesn't know what democracy is.  That or he's just jumping to random conclusions about what I'm saying instead of actually understanding my posts.

Ioric has always been a bit of a troll, but I have to say, every part of the word 'discussion forum' indicates democracy.

Yes, I love trolling people who classify anyone who disagrees with them as a troll... ::)

I'm going to need this 'discussion forum' indicates democracy thing explained to me...  But if that's really the case I guess it's rather ironic.

discussion forum indicates a place to discuss things. Even in dictatorships there can be such a place, so discussion forum doesn't indicate democracy. At most, if you want to stretch it, freedom of thought and speech. Which doesn't equal democracy.

And if you want to get etymological about it, the Romans kept building forums well after they switched from Republic to Empire.  So yeah, democracy is not a requirement.

Yeah, it is a dictatorship, but dictatorships aren't always bad. I have never seen a democratic forum work out when it reaches more than a thousand members. In fact, I've seen a lot of them fall apart. Democracy gives everyone an equal say. Internet democracy gives the loudest people the loudest say. That person who's more aggressive in reporting other users ("bob used the word retard, will called me a prick, tom is being racist as sarcasm") are the people who wield the most power. They form cliques and their hegemony spreads like a cancer, up to the point their group convince that the moderators are nazis and flame (within the rules) everyone they don't like out of the place.

You either have a forum run by a dictator or forums run by politicians. Toady is a benevolent dictator anyway, so I have nothing wrong with it.

I see no problem with Toady One/ThreeToe using the Weed Killer Solution every so often instead of wasting time Weed Whacking every day.

Honestly, you get 'trolls' that have obviously only been here less then a week and you find them already waist deep in the firey bowels of Bay12?
They have nothing to stand on.  No mercy....  No quarter.... shall be spared.

Then you have people who have been here awhile and do not really have a history of playing with fire.  They have their chance.  5 strikes is more then enough.  (Though it would be cool to have a statute of limitations... >.>  1 strike off every 1 year or something.)

I think I disagreed with you, due to reading errors on my part. There was some very compelling evidence for the game's existence, but later findings discredited the evidence, and there isn't any right now. Tense is everything. :)
