Looks like scourges are a good weapon choice after all.

It worked especially well with the Brute/Disabler team of MAP and Gutstabberson. Gutstabberson was tough and fast enough to soak up a lot of damage, while once MAP managed to hit a few times, the opponent was essentially over.

I can think of a few exhibition matches now, like simply pitting MAP and Gitstabberson against each other, or their team vs the previous tournament's finalists. I might even try writing up that last one o
unless someone better at it than me ( probably everyone ) would like to try.

Attacked from behind- the only way either of my puny opponents could have hoped to best me!

As I was looking over the tournament, I noticed that Josephus made a fatal error. One that could have, potentially, changed the outcome of the entire tournament. I feel that, had the mistake not been made, the contestant in question could have had a solid chance at the championship.

Imacutyourface is a bronze colossus, not a gremlin.

In the interest of fairness, I have decided to run a match between Imacutyourface and our current champions. If Imacutyourface wins, they lose their titles and he becomes the true champion.

EXHIBITION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:

GUTSTABBERSON and MAPLE WILLOW ASPEN vs. IMACUTYOURFACE, BRONZE COLOSSUS

Maple Willow Aspen starts up the match by charging fearlessly at Imacutyourface and striking it with his great scourge, but it simply glances off harmlessly. Imacutyourface charges him and knocks him to the ground, but his attacks all miss or are blocked by the dwarf. Gutstabberson, taking advantage of the colossus' distraction, strikes at his guts from behind, but this proves equally ineffective. Imacutyourface turns around and charges Gutstabberson clear to the edge of the arena, raining down blow after blow. The minotaur tries to evade the attacks, but he lacks his partner's defensive capabilities. His legs are shattered by the colossus' fists. The great statue picks him up, about to crush his head with a single hand, but Maple Willow Aspen lashes him from behind, drawing his attention away. The two trade blows, neither able to penetrate the other's defenses. Meanwhile, Gustabberson, showing incredible force of will, totters towards the colossus on broken legs, but falls after a few steps. The colossus hears him and, remembering its other opponent, knocks the hippy down with a swat of its massive hand and turns back to Gutstabberson. It shatters the minotaur's limbs with a few punches and then... my god... it's indescribable... mercilessly cuts the minotaur's face, gouging out everything there is to gouge. The dwarven hippy, horrified by the spectacle, launches a volley of blows at the colossus' back, but they all glance off harmlessly. He reminds the colossus that minotaurs are an endangered species and that he should just chill out and coexist with Mother Nature. Imacutyourface must have heard him because it stops gouging Gutstabberson and just caves his head in. With one of the two champions dealt with, it turns to Maple Willow Aspen, who blocks a few blows and counterstrikes, but misses entirely. Imacutyourface takes advantage of the momentary lapse in defense by wrapping his arm around the hippy's neck and crushing his throat. The colossus tosses Aspen to the ground and roars a silent roar of victory to the night sky. Ladies and gentlemen... your new champion.

Imacutyourface is a bronze colossus, not a gremlin.

Actually, he was a Bronze Colossus in his mind. That's where it counts.

I vote randomized. Before each round we spend, and (without knowing in advance) you are given a random opponent from the list of remaining fighters. Only in the Finals match will you know who you're facing- it gets scrambled every round. It's even possible to do this with two-man teams, and scramble your partner as well.

Round Robin is fine too...  ;D

What's Round Robin? I'm liking Gannon's idea too.

EDIT: Google'd it. Oh god not RR. I'm thinking closed random. You only know the name, so you could get some fun matchups...

don't really like the idea of doing it randomly. it takes out some of the strategy.

round robin would be kind of cool but would also require you to do more than a thousand matches. so, not the most practical thing.

if we really need a special gimmick for each tournament, how about a custom arena? like an arena with no walls surrounded by magma, for example, or a multiple-z-level tower.
