Battle for Third Place

Spanner (Kobold) and Mr. Stabs (Kobold) versus Great Sword (Human) and The Pointy End (Elf)
Managers Mekboy, Flagrarus, LAAT501Legion, and Arthur Wilborn

"So how about that insanity, eh Olon?"
"I don't know, Urist, but it felt pretty crazy!"
"We'd like to thank gladiators Great Sword and the Pointy End for filling in for us during the duration of our horrific, life-threatening, and yet humorous sounding disease. And wish them luck!"
"That's right, Urist. Because today, Great Sword and the Pointy End step into the ring again, to fight for third place against Spanner and Mr. Stabs!"
"Since both teams lost their previous fights, they do not get to change their equipment, but enter the ring as they did the previous round!
"So who will win this time? The kobold duo, or the meatshield and the archer? I can't wait!"

The Pointy End opens the match, firing an arrow at Mekboy, but missing cleanly. Great Sword lunges across the Arena at Mr. Stabs, swinging his sword in a vicious vertical strike. The kobold leaps away, utilizing his finely honed agility, and thrusts at Great Sword with his adamantine spear, but the human catches it on his shield and makes a counterattack of his own!

He only catches air, but smoothly recovers and makes another charge at Mr. Stabs! This time he miscarries, as the smaller kobold dances away. Great Sword rushes past him, finding himself facing the sneaky kobold ninja, Spanner!

Spanner leaps at Great Sword and, in an attempt at the mystical art of Combat Dentistry, stabs him in the mouth, failing to do any damage to his teeth, but poking a hole in the human's cheek. While Great Sword flails around, trying to get the kobold away from him, the Pointy End scores with an arrow, tagging Spanner in the thigh and tearing a muscle!

Understandably incensed, Spanner reacts by stabbing Great Sword right in the hamstring, crippling him! He flops over on his back. Mr. Stabs takes this opportunity to go to work on Great Sword, extracting a tooth with his spear!

The kobolds begin to hammer at Great Sword, who protects himself with his shield and swings at the two kobolds as he lies there. He manages to land a hard stab to Spanner's arm, but Mr. Stabs counters with a thrust of his own, stabbing him right in the pectoral! Spanner brings his dagger down on Great Sword's neck and swiftly decapitates him.

Meanwhile, the Pointy End has been firing, and lands a shot to Mr. Stabs' thigh, bruising him through his armor! The kobold rushes the Pointy End, landing a solid blow to his unarmored shin, breaking it and causing him to topple over.

Spanner takes ninjastic advantage, leaping upon the elf, stabbing him once in the leg and cutting him in half with a mighty dagger blow!

Winner: Spanner and Mr. Stabs

"Amazing, Olon! Never have I seen such precise spear and daggerwork!"
"That's Combat Dentistry for you, Urist! Kobold dentists are the best dentists. Just remember to pay your bill!"
"After what I've seen today, I doubt I'll forget! Spanner and Mr. Stabs take the bronze! The crowd goes wild!"
"That's it for today, folks. Join us next time as we decide the champion, here on the Bay12 DF Gladiator Challenge!"

Note to self - any build that lacks shield or insane dodge is doomed.

For the next tournament, could it be run like SAs current one is? Giving everyone the opportunity to see their fighters in action at least thrice means it won't be so much of a bother if your fighter goes out in round 1.

Are they doing it round robin style? Also, I made a mistake posting. Match will be up shortly.

Championships!

Maple Willow Aspen (Dwarf) and Gutstabberson, Son of Gutstabber (Minotaur) versus Vox (Dwarf) and The Spartan (Human)!
Managers Mysteriousbluepuppet, Howells, Vox Nihili, and Mountain-King

"Here it is, Olon! The final showdown!"
"That's right, Urist. Today, two teams will go head to head to prove who is worthy to be the Bay 12 DF Gladiator Challenge Champion!"
"In the ring now, we've got Maple Willow Aspen and his partner, Gutstabberson. Maple Willow Aspen is one of those rarities - a dwarf hippy who is so good with his weapon that he is here, in the final stages of the tourney!"
"And his partner, Gutstabberson, is no slouch. That bulk of his is deceptively fast, and he's good enough with a spear to make a goblin weapon master wet his pants!"
"Too true, Olon. But they've go their work cut out for them today! Entering the ring now is our tournament's esteemed founder, Vox! The nimble dwarf has spent this entire tourney unarmored, wielding his dagger and shield with astounding proficiency!"
"His partner, the Spartan, is just as fearsome! The team's strategy of pinning down an opponent with the Spartan's spear has proved effective so far - will it be too much for the team of Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabberson?"
"We'll see, Olon. It's time to find out!"

The Spartan darts toward his opposite number, sending a crackling spear strike as Gutstabberson leaps towards him! The Spartan's thrust strikes the Minotaur in the hand, severing his middle finger and sending it sailing into the stands! There's going to be one happy fan tonight!

Gutstabberson's momentum carries him into the Spartan's personal space, and they collide. The human rebounds off the Minotaur's brawny chest and lands on his back, allowing Gutstabberson to make a thrust of his own with his bronze pike! The Spartan catches the attack on his shield and makes a return thrust with his spear, tagging the Minotaur in the hand again!

Vox has sneaked up on Gutstabberson as he tangles with the Spartan, and he takes his chance! As Gutstabberson furiously attempts to hit the Spartan behind his shield, Vox jams his dagger into the thick meat of the Minotaur's thigh and twists, chipping a bone!

Maple Willow Aspen enters the fight now! Attempting to get Vox's dagger out of his partner, he sends his heavy platinum scourge whirling down at Vox. The other dwarf manages to avoid the brunt of the blow, but takes a hit to the hand, receiving a wound to his finger!

Gutstabberson takes advantage of this distraction to knock over the Spartan again, this time sending him tumbling head over heels backwards! Maple Willow Aspen spins and smacks Vox right in the chest, giving him breathing difficulties and a nasty looking bruise - but in a single motion, he brings the whip back around and tags Vox right in the forehead, taking the founder out of this fight!

Gutstabberson again drives his spear at the Spartan, but this time the effort is far too much for him, and he passes out and falls over just as the Spartan blocks the strike. Maple Willow Aspen attempts a scourge strike at the Spartan, but the human dodges easily, sending a half-hearted spear strike at the dwarf,  and returns to start pummeling the prone Gutstabberson with his spear!

Maple Willow Aspen, incensed at being ignored, applies the deadly Yuktobanian Whip Dance and begins to lash the everloving hell out of the human, lashing the Spartan in the throat and opening an artery! That certainly gets his attention, as the Spartan turns to the dwarf hippy and begins wildly thrusting in his general direction!

What follow is perhaps a clinic in dodging skills, as Maple Willow Aspen lands eight strikes on the Spartan without the human even landing one! In frustration, the Spartan jams his spear in Gutstabberson's thigh, just in time to receive another strike from Maple Willow Aspen on the shoulder.

The Spartan flops over and bleeds to death, meaning...

Winner: Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabberson, Son of Gutstabber!

"By god, Olon! Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabberson have done it! They've beaten Vox and Spartan to become Legendary Champions!"
"All hail Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabberson!"
"All hail, indeed!"
"It's been a great ride, folks. Thank you for allowing us to share this exhilarating experience with you. We'd like to thank Arthur Wilborn, for running those exhibition matches and Great Sword and the Pointy End, for so kindly filling in!"
"And always, always, we'd like to thank the amazing Vox Nihili, for establishing this fine tournament!"
"Good night, and good fight!"
