I've got a serious problem with my fight, why was I wearing "small silver greaves" yeti's are supposed to be huge, and why did I start the fight laying down, I never get hit, yet before I fight i have to stand up.

I can field this.  Arena mode has some issues with perspective- it's essentially a hacked version of dwarf mode, but it doesn't know what type of creature it is supposed to be using as a reference point.  Thus, you will sometimes see it call things "small" or "large" for no apparent reason.  The items are always made to fit the creature using them, though, so your yeti was assuredly wearing greaves that would have been "huge" to a dwarf.

The "standing up" problem is more interesting.  In fights will multiple creatures, such as these tag-team events, teammates will often jostle for position trying to get near their opponent's to take a shot.  If they try to move into the same square, one will be forced to a "down" position while one will remain "up."  Thus, the one who was forced down will generally have to stand up at some point.  The same thing happens if your gladiator makes the stupid decision to move into a square occupied by an opponent.

If you recall, the same thing can happen in adventure mode with gear and adventurer reactions - Gear that you can't wear because of its size will be marked small or large.

Similarly, armor created by a reaction in adventure mode will always be huge and therefore unwearable.

However, Arena mode starts the creatures wearing whatever gear you put on them no matter its size, so the size of the spawned gear doesn't really matter.

"It's another fine day for a fight, isn't it Great Sword?
"Sure is, The Pointy End.  Say, what happened to the regular commentators?"
"They're in the hospital being checked for Mad Cow Disease after exposure to all that minotaur brain."
"That's just gross.  So who do we have today, Pointy?"
"I'm glad you asked, Great!  On the west, we have the unlikely pair of the kobolds who pulled an upset last match against a much larger team.  The ninja, Spanner, and the adamantium lancer Mr. Stabs!"
"It looks like Stabs is also wearing some bronze armor. This has proved to be a disadvantage so far, but he looks pretty comfortable in it."
"But will it be enough to stop the steel weapons of their opponents, Great?  Vox and the Spartan have been seen living in complete sync since the last match.  Vox has developed a perfect defense, while the Spartan is masterful on offense!  They've scoffed any armor, trusting in their shields to protect them."
"It worked pretty against you in the last round, elf.  Speaking of which, the losers today will meet us in a show bout for third place."
"That's right, so let's fight!"

Spanner rushes ahead of his companion! I guess that armor is slowing Mr. Stabs after all.  Vox advances cautiously ahead of the Spartan as a screen.  But look! Spanner has managed to lure him away leaving us with spear against spear! Here comes the charge!

Ooooh!  The Spartan easily uses his longer reach to spear Mr. Stabs right through the chest!  And he twists the point home through the heart! An absolutely brutal opening blow!

With that, the fight has gone right out of the kobold team.  Vox knocks a distracted Spanner over and takes off his hand... and his head! Spanner is down!

The Spartan pins the other kobold through the guts.  But look! Mr. Stabs is pulling himself up the shaft for one more blow against his larger foe.  No!  The weak stab misses and the Spartan just winds up with a faceful of vomit.

Winner: Vox and The Spartan, !!Team!!

"And so the kobolds fall to the magnificent cross species partnership of dwarf and human! Isn't it grand, Great Sword?"
"Sure is, Pointy End.  But will they do any better against another great mixed pair?  In my unbiased opinion, I sure hope not!"
