The Horned Axe (Minotaur) and The Paralyzer (SnakeMan) versus Urist McAxedorf (Gremlin) and Mr. Pokey (Antwoman)

"It's another brand new day in the Second Bay12 Gladiator challenge! What've we got today, Olon?"
"Well, Urist, I've gotta say, I'm glad to be here!"
"So am I! Give the viewers at home the breakdown, Olon."
"Well, Urist, I've got to admit, this one is pretty tense. We've got another minotaur, the massive Horned Axe, brandishing a Bronze Battle Axe, and he looks pretty competent with it. His partner is the Paralyzer, a snakeman in bronze mail. Look at how he ducks and weaves! A real king cobra, right there.
"And on the right side, we've got Urist McAxedorf, who is a gremlin and most certainly not a dwarf, Olon - but he's certainly got a great name. He's wielding a lethal-looking Slade Whip! I don't like the looks of that weapon. His partner is Mr. Pokey, a soldier antwoman. She's taking advantage of her many arms, and is wielding a steel spear and two shields, as well as some leather armor.
"If you remember, Urist, Antwomen haven't fared too well lately. They tend to bleed out at the slightest injury!"
"Well, we'll see how this one goes, eh, Olon?"

As the match begins, Urist mcAxedorf sends his whip cracking at The Horned Axe, bruising his guts. The Horned Axe roars, and aims a thunderous axe strike at the gremlin, but Urist manages to parry it deftly with his whip! The impact knocks him over, and the Axe is upon him, striking at him again. Urist mcAxedorf counterstrikes, landing a solid strike to the ribs, biting deep, and the Horned Axe quickly passes out.

The Paralyzer hurls himself at Urist, grabbing him by the arm and locking it. He bites Urist in the shoulder, sinking his fangs in, and the gremlin locks up, paralyzed! Being the nasty snakeman that he is, the Paralyzer lands another bite to Urist's body and begins to shake him around like a dog.

Mr. Pokey seizes her chance and lances The Paralyzer in the back, piercing the mail easily and puncturing a lung. Roaring with pain, the snakeman charges Mr. Pokey and knocks her over. Lashing out at her again and again with his snakelike speed, the Paralyzer grabs ahold of one of Mr. Pokey's feet, but she jumps away and stabs him in the chest, penetrating deeply! The snakeman knocks her away again with a fierce charge and goes back to shaking Urist mcAxedorf in a blind fury.

This proves to be an unwise decision. As Urist passes out from the pain, Mr. Pokey stabs the Paralyzer in the head with her steel spear. The weapon punctures the base of his skull and pokes out of his eyesocket, barely missing the unconscious gremlin who has the misfortune to still be in the Paralyzer's mouth. The snakeman drops Urist and collapses, quite dead.

Mr. Pokey then turns to the unconscious Minotaur and stabs him into something approximating a red paste with horns.

Winner: Urist McAxedorf and Mr. Pokey!

"Amazing! I think Mr. Pokey has just redeemed her species!"
"I have minotaur brains all over me again, Urist."
"That tends to happen when you've got a furious antwoman stabbing someone to death, Olon."
"Well, I have to say that match was won mostly by Urist mcAxedorf's slade whip, Urist. It took out the Horned Axe before he could do any real damage, and allowed Mr. Pokey to basically murder both members of the team."
"True, Olon. But what do you expect with a name like that? He was born for greatness."

Honestly, I was expecting The Horned Axe and Paralyzer to at least kill one of the others.

Well, Urist McAxedorf suffocated, but not quite quick enough.

EDIT: The match I just ran depressed me.
