Quite an intriguing puzzle/adventure game. Solving it in less moves is greatly beneficial, but not using enough moves will make us weak and prone to self-immolation.

I'll spend my turn studying secret spells.

...I said in the OP: PM me the spells you want to research. It won't matter too much yet, but once you've started to figure things out it could give people hints to know what you are researching.

Could those who are PMing actions please post a general idea of what they're doing? The game will get dull if the only one posting anything is Dragnar, and I don't think there's any reason to hide that you're studying, or building something some where, or off in a dungeon.

Yeah, it's probably best to post what you're doing, just not the specifics.

Edit: Also, I am really expecting the thread to be pretty boring for the first few turns, while everyone is researching. It will liven up once people start adventuring.

Hugehead goes deep into the libraries of the academy, hoping to find a new useful spell.

Turn one: Everyone has been PMed their actions, so... here it is!

...Not that there's much to report, all the newly trained mages remained within the Academy walls to study their spells, excited to test their new-found knowledge. They have some nice spells now though, so maybe something will happen next turn.

I think I have this mostly figured out.

More studying is needed, to confirm my theories.

I, however, feel I have enough spell knowledge to start making some plans.

Before I go running off, though, I want to gather some information about the surrounding area.

Hugehead thinks he has a few of the words figured out but he needs more time to study

Welcome friends!
It is time we magicians begin progress! No longer should we be secretive on what we learn! No longer must we hide our knowledge which could save a man's life! We must share what we know, if we intend to learn!

The speech continues for some time...
And so it is now I shall tell you what I have learned. The final word Haz means your hand. The first word Tor is for spinning. The middle word Qur is wind. Tell me, friends, what have you learned?

Investigate spells "Tor(da)|Qur(olm)|Ta", "Tor(da)|Qur|Pan" and "Tor|Qur(olm)|Pan"

Pan is the word of area!

You could probably get a bit more interest by posting up short summaries of what the players have done. If they are practicing spells for example, you can type whether someone indeed threw that fireball. But you don't need to show what words they used.
