DF worldgen as input to Civ 4
« on: August 27, 2010, 01:19:56 pm »

Hi

Dunno how the worldgen outputs the date, but could it be put into a format to use as a base for civ4 world gen ? ( Or now that the civ5 is approaching, for that one ?)
The world gen is very detailed and would be awesome if there are any civ-fanatics here that would make this dream happen :)

I'm not sure what you mean here. Are you wanting to use the DF worldgen history as a base for the civs to establish themselves, or is it the map you want?

Not that I can help at either rate, eheh.

And then what?  Mine the sky? . . .  Actually, that'd be awesome.

Are you hoping there's a way to parse the worldmap in DF into Civ4/5? you'd need an intermediary program to parse the ascii from the map dump into worldbuilder, at a wild guess, but that wouldn't place any resources, probably doable, but you'd have to find someone that really wants to do it, interesting idea tho, otherwise i have no idea what you mean. :P
