i unbuilt a bridge over the chasm, and one of the stone blocks was left hanging in mid-air over the chasm.

the bridge was next to another bridge, so some of the blocks were dropped on the other bridge, and some were dropped on each side of the chasm on safe ground.  one was dropped ON the chasm and, instead of being lost, it is hanging their in mid-air rather inaccessable.

Same thing happens in the river (although I think the floods may wash them away eventually).

this isnt a bug in the river, i dont think, as river water is supposed to not wash over boulders / blocks.  same happens in channels and floods, rocks stand out.

but in the chasm they should.. you know.. fall.

It's a problem in the river because the rock is essentially unreachable... and causes dwarves to freak out when they try to get them.

Yeah, this is a known issue with all items on all buildings.  It just doesn't check them when the building is destroyed.
