Hadn't  done 'Bull in the Ring' yet, no idea what it is. We actually didn't do gassers today, apparently we only do them when we do something really, really bad. Or on Fridays, which we get out at 3:45 then and just do extreme conditioning all the while. My muscles have been sort of 'tired' (Almost completely in the lower legs) so I'm going to start eating bananas to get more potassium or something tomorrow. Hopefully that'll help.

Did 3 full gassers today, didn't get dehydrated like last time, but still did a little. We did 3 full gassers, but after the first one I got disoriented and didn't run the next one on accident. Coaches didn't notice. On that last gasser, on the last turn, I felt my blood boiling inside me, and  I told myself-"LETS FUCKING DO THIS" and sprinted that last stretch. Overall I've noticed a major improvement, I finished 5th from last. Unlike last time, where everyone finished a stretch ahead of me and I was totally dehydrated. I think I tore a leg muscle, but that just means its growing, right?

In the same way that breaking your leg means you're getting more mature, yes.

If you've actually torn the muscle, you should a) see a doctor and b) lock this thread. There won't be any walking without crutches for anywhere between a month and two and a half months, depending on how quickly you heal.

If it was just cramped (which is very common in dehydrated players), or stretched, you have nothing to worry about. Get a sports bottle, put your name on it, keep it on the sidelines, and right after you finish a gasser, get a small drink. If you were referencing the micro-tears that make muscle tissue grow...you generally don't feel those. If anything, you'll get a kind of dull ache, but that's it.

Seriously, though, if you think you've injured yourself, immediately tell your coach and go see a doctor. I'm not a medical professional, but I'm a trained fight doc, so there's that.

COME THIS SUNDAY THIS TUESDAY ON MONDAY THIS WEDNESDAY ON FRIDAY NIGHT SUPER DESTRUCTION DERBY FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Hope your leg gets better and has no serious injuries and you're just mistakenly using terms that would indicate it's worse than it really is.

Personally the only kind of football I've ever really partook in was Soccer.

See a Doc dude. My buddy tore his ACL in training camp over the summer. Bye bye football, wrasslin, and track.

Apparently I was just mistakenly using the term. Whenever I step I feel some pain in my right leg, but not alot. It's getting better, though.

Stretch after your cooldowns in practice. Ice (wrapped in a wash cloth) for 20 minutes then Hot water bottle (wrapped, again) for 10 or warm bath. 200-400mg Ibuprofen/Advil. Stretch some more. Go easy on it. Maybe get a neoprene knee brace to help support your ligaments while you practice.

You'll eventually get to the point where all you'll need to do is stretch after practice and you'll be fine. Keep at it, man. ^_^

Update.

First game of the season-The first two got cancelled, but we managed to reschedule for a day after on this one, against the Marauders from McMillin.

Let me start off by saying they are bad. I'm B team[Got dropped from A team because I wasn't at school the day they were picking teams] 2nd/3rd string offensive, 1st string defensive. I just pile-drived through all of the guys in my way. They didn't stand a chance.
At the end of B-game, it was(And remember, this is Utley vs. McMillan) it was 14-0. Us 14, and them? 0. Overall it was a great first game.

You play ironman? Hordcore. Did you ever work out which positions you're actually playing?

I'm Left Guard on offense, and I forget what on defense.

Well, if you're a D lineman, you've really only got two choices, and those are Defensive End (on the outside of the D-Line) and Defensive Tackle (on the inside of the D-Line.)

There are various variations on those two things (Nose Tackle, Under Tackle, Rush End, Joker, etc.) but they really all wind up playing the same positions in different ways.

I've mentioned this multiple times in the Sad thread, but the football thread is more appropriate.

I'm out for the season due to my having a piece of my kneecap break off after it dislocated. Pity, because this is only my second year playing football and next year is senior year.
