Apologies for the waste of space if this was fixed in the latest release (or if I missed someone already mentioning it), but as of November 3rd armor stands and weapon racks COMPLETELY didn't work. It took me awhile to figure out that they were just bugged, sorry.

Dwarves will not store anything on them (although I noticed that items stored on them prior to the update were still here) and it's a bit of a pain because weapon traps clutter up the forges and armor takes up too damn much room.

You can now create weapon stockpiles and armor stockpiles.  That will at least get rid of the clutter from the workshops.

Weapons and armor racks always used to work.

I think you need to first press the all materials/weapon types buttons, because I think the default is nothing, but I'm not sure.

If they don't work at all, it's a new issue not an old one.

But yeah, just make a weapon + armor stockpile. Weapon/armor racks are obsolete now, except for purposes of making nobles happy.

They haven't worked on purpose for the last couple of versions.

Apperently Toady has some plans for them in the future, where soldiers will store their armor and weapons on them (presumably when they're relaxing,) but right now they're just pretty pieces of furniture that your nobles want in their rooms.
