That's right, Tropico 3: Steam Special Edition. Excuse the high voice, it's getting better (or so I've been told.) I will start playing challenges right away, and once the time has come, upload them to youtube for your enjoyment! :D Have fun watching the videos to come!

I've been meaning to see the correct way to play Tropico. I always fail terribly whenever I try.

THERES A CORRECT WAY!?!?!?!?!?

Well I nearly cleared the Rum Challenge thing in the online stuff, if my computer didn't wigout that is, the Religious people loved me, I had millions of cash and only 30% was still homeless. (60% unemployed sadly) AND was just starting on a Tourist Side venture for workers and shit before the game wigged out on me...

30% homeless, 60% unemployed? that is madness!
how can you even get any support with numbers like those?

Have you ever run that map. 600people arrive on the first tradeship to the point where 1/5 of the map is shantys, I had like 20 Construction buildings trying to keep enough housing going, and the military up to counter the bad throughts of homeless, unemployed people can sort of live with, but living in shanties... My avatar was running all about the shanti towns calming the protests, bribing the leaders, and even assasinating a few that were a bit to much. In the end I discovered that throwing money at people was so mus safer...

I had just started the construction of buildings that would cover the work of 30% of those unemployed, and countless other workshops and farms, My main area was filled with the 3rd rate homes cause they were fast to build and covered a good amount of folks, there were like 20 Distilleries, so I had heaps of coin coming in. YET THE CONSTRUCTORS TOOK FOREVER TO BUILD ONE THING!!!

no, i never played that map. sounds like a challenge...
now that you explained the situation, i am even more surprised that you can actually hold the power.

and I can understand your rage against builders. they spend most of their time either doing nothing, or giving 1 hammer strike to that building on the other side of the map, then return home.

Gets worse, if you don't control the rebels and the folks that go towards the rebels, and the Religious faction cause the whole game is as if the Prohibition act never ended and booze was classified as an Illegal drug (4000Income per bottle or something), After a certain amount of years the Religious Faction will either demand you to shut down or they will incite the people under them to turn rebel if you hadn't kept them happy enough, Amazingly I had, so I didn't have a 400 man Rebel squad charging down my Palace like the first time I played, in fact I only had a 20 Man against my army of 120... Yeah it didn't turn out well for the rebels. I also hate the AI for the fighting, they will go one at a time, or one group will spread out so more of them are fighting so your guys die quicker cause they are only going one at a time too...

I haven't had time or the coin to get the expansion so Maybe they have fixed it there...
