I've never finished the second game.
The farthest I got was to that shadow temple, where the final fight was supposed to be.

I can't remember how much new characters I created.

Same here, for me NW2 was just boring even though I can't say it was bad game. First one was even worse. Hopefully this one will be good (cooperation is supposed to be big part of it).

I wouldn't hold out much hope for this, unless you really dig character creation.

I've only played NWN2 and it was pretty boring, plus Bioware cut-and-paste storyline.  I could never get past the mission in Neverwinter where you have to fight the bandits.

Lucky me, when I play PC rpgs I dont care for story. I'm in it for the minmaxing numbercrunching.

Then came fallout 1 and sucked me right in, that bitch of a game. Damnit, I wanted to know IT ALL. Good times. But apart from that... well, minmaxing.

Hm, I guess I'm one of the few who was engrossed with the NWN2 story and played it start to finish. The silver sword that you assembled from the shards was badass, and I loved the different ways you could overcome most of the challenges. I finished the game with a half elf favored soul who had a big floppy hat with a feather in it, and a rapier that could crit on a 15. Good times.

First one wasn't that bad.
It just took a while until the story kicked in.
Although it probably was the weakest of the D&D titles.

I tried the solo mage/warlock challenge.
That was fun.

Yeah that sword wouldn't have been that bad, if there actually would have been a weapon proficiency for it.

My brother finished it with half-orc bard/warrior (those brightly coloured clothes ... my eyes!) and he dual wielded two-handed swords  :P. I remember he won some music contest by setting on fire opponents lute because he was very bad at actual performing.

Hahaha, I could imagine a half-orc bard's songs.

"ME LIKE APPLE, OH SO GOOD;
RED AND SHINY, CRUNCH LIKE BONE;
JUICE SO SWEET, RUN LIKE BLOOD;
CORE BEST PART, NOM NOM NOM!"

What?

Combat oriented classes had an option to become a "Mace Expert" or a "Longsword Master".
But the developers decided to make that silver sword a weapon, which didn't fall in any category.
