Loading Minecraft Materials...
loaded 113 materials

Loading DF to MC Object Definations...
loaded 1181 objects

couldn't find a suitable process

That's all the utility ever says. I have my fort loaded and everything. I don't know what's going on. Is there something I'm missing?

Now this may be one of the most basic steps of this process, but it's also the one giving me trouble.
I cant find the save directory for minecraft. It just has an exe, nothing else...

Run a search on your computer for 'World#' (# being 1-5). It'll most likely be in your "My Documents" folder.

For Vista/win7, look in C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
Not sure for xp.

What version are you using exactly?  It won't work past version DF 0.31.12 (It has to be SDL, Legacy doesn't work at all)

In case you're using the Legacy version of DF 0.31.12 here's the link to download the SDL version.

When I check the AppData I don't find a folder named Roaming, only a folder named local, and in that nothing minecraft related.

Minecraft is in roaming. (it's ".minecraft"; file names get weird as you go down deeper, much like cave denizens.)

I know the minecraft file(s) should be in roaming, but it does not seem to exist.

Go to the Windows Start/Run box, type %APPDATA% as the item to run or open.  This should open a folder containing other folders like Identities and Help and various software companies.

If you get a list but .minecraft isn't in it, try turning on Show Hidden Files and Folders.  In XP: open Tools menu of the folder, choose Folder Options, choose the View tab, go down to the Hidden Files and Folders item, select the proper button, say Yes to the scary warning, press the OK button.

If that still doesn't work, then I suspect Java is putting its resource files somewhere strange.

Put the output file into "%Appdata%\roaming\.minecraft\saves\" as world1, world2, world3, world4, or world5.
