i don't find the grenade....   :'(
Basements sometimes have them, along with a shotgun and assorted ammo too.
I just lead an awesome zombie revolt as The Prisonner Who Should Not Be's Zombie at the police station.
I did something like that, but as a Master at the hospital. T'was fun.

(Spoiler Alert) I found that guy in the hospital, then gave myself the goal of turning every generator on. I then died like 3 times trying to do it. It opened the storage rooms. How usefull was that. (I guess if you killed the serial killer he would have given you his axe)

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.

my champion is now holding his artifact crossbow by his upper left leg and still shooting with is just fine despite having no hands.
What? He's firing from the hip.

I made CHAR office my base. In one of my previous lives, I lured out the guard.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

What do I do? Waiting sounds boring, though I could wait almost infinitely downstairs. Though, the longer I wait, the harder it will be to get to the sewers.... I am also doing permanent death, so no "just keep trying till you win!". I also have access to grenades, maybe I could use those, though I may have used them all up downstairs......

"Edit" Went downstairs for some grenades, and they....disappeared.

I don't know if it's normal, but when I entered the CHAR underground base, it was just a hellhole full of fully evolved undead, and more zombie princes than you can wave a stick it.

I just ran halfway across the map through hordes of zombies to jump down a manhole, run all the way to the sewer maintenance hacking down zombies as I ran to push some junk out of the way that was blocking my end of the sewer system, not allowing me to go down my manhole.

After breaking the drawer, the zombie seemed content with destroying my defenses and wandered off.

The error you're talking about was a graphical glitch related to the "attacker" icon (a yellow box) appearing in the skill window when the zombie attacked the furniture that was blocking the stairs. They can still, and have always been able to, attack the furniture object on the stairs.

The player not being able to attack furniture on stairs is probably an interface design oversight that'll be fixed eventually, like the asymetric line of sight/fire.

edit - Anyways, here's a link to an image of the impossible-to-move-car emergent gameplay i posted about before:

As you can see, each car has no place to be pushed into; the large barricades can be replaced with small barricades or other cars, or other furniture... As long as no zombie master types shows up to jump cars and break things, it should always be impossible to enter as a zombie; wether they can push things or not.

The game is riddled with little oversights such as these, but thats why its an alpha anyway :P
You can become permanently stranded if you're on top of a car surrounded by other climbable surfaces if you get below the stamina limit, if there's a zombie around. You can wait and rest to move because the zombie will keep interrupting your wait, so your stamina is permanently low and you can't move.
