I'm looking forward to the dwarf mod you have planned Deon.

I'm not sure about using meat for groceries.  Meat in DF creates miasma after awhile when it's not stored in a barrel.  Maybe groceries can be an open barrel with meat visible from the top or just a "food barrel".  It would be awesome if there really were thoughts like in DF.  Expired food would emit miasma and give all the dwarves bad thoughts.  Spoiled food would continue to emit miasma and make you throw up when you eat it.

Army rations could be backpacks, similar to how the military use backpacks to store their food.

Not sure about canned food... maybe a biscuit?  Prepared food lasts awhile.

Psychopath could be an enraged/tantrum dwarf.
Sewer thing would be the best "forgotten beast" undead.

ACtually I planned more fantasy weapons. And crossbow would fit perfectly because the skill will be called "blowguns" and it will be a blowgun, while other ranged weapons will be just "ranged" (including bows for pistols (and elven bow for kolt), crossbows for rifles (and arbalest for army rifle) and blunderbuss for shotguns).

I usually go with Hauler and move one grocery store to another and just sit there till army supplies appear. Sometimes I raid PD to get needed guns and ammo.

Note that npcs do not 'P'ush furniture, so it's an easy block for your items.

Did you get the graphics? If you haven't read the thread you could miss them :).
Well, I still pick leadership. I'd rather have a mule with 7 slots than 1 extra slot.

Before I read all the tips posted here about food I survived til the army arrived and was basically suffocating in rations. so yeah, thats that. Once you know thats all you have to do, its kinda easy. Do those drops ever stop (theoretically... I mean, I bet zombie mutation will be a bigger problem, after a few days more, than staying well fed...)? On the other hand, do I want an answer to that question? Or do I wanna find out myself... hmmm...

And yeah, I found your graphics pack on the RS website. I used it right away, it looks nice. But I didnt wanna tell you, your ego is big enough as it is  :P

My ego? What do you mean? I just like when people are happy :).

Nothing really :D

Something else: those army guys.. at first they seem really helpful, running aboot, cleansing the city. Then they run out of ammo and food and become part of the problem instead of the solution.

Should I REALLY bother feeding those 'tards? and giving them weapons? I mean, their inv is almost full, they cant be lead, I'd need to (g)ive them some stuff, but seein how much food those drops have, why not, actually?

Or did they not restock themselves because their leader was dead?

And they don't starve to death.

I enabled "NPCs can starve" or somehting in the options... doesnt that actually make them starve?

I know I saw a lone soldier, out of ammo, out of food in the cleared hospital entrance. We build light fortifications, and went down to explore the hospital. I'll never do that again without a flashlight, btw.

When we came back up, that soldier guy was zombified, but no enemies were around.

Keepin them fed would be easy, I guess. Keeping them armed is another story entirely...

Oh btw, is there something where I can look up all the hints from the advisor?

I have seen 40 of 42 or somehting and I can't get myself to turn it off, but if I have to start another game with the advisor running, I'm going nuts.

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Please do not disinform people. Soldiers do not starve.

The enemy that zombified him probably left. Perhaps he saw a tasty human, but the guard did not?

I see, never knew you could change skill names, probably not attentive enough to the blog :P

Also I seem to be getting dreams of this game, its getting to me oh my god....

Anyways, I'd suggest that precision rifles would be long bows. Sounds cooler that way, because I can theorize that the dwarven raiders bought elven weaponry to attack you. It just seems wrong if an elven bow is in the fortress.

Since all the weapons are editable, it might make sense to remove all the ranged weapons except the crossbow for the DF mod.
