I'm mad.
THE BULLET not THE GUN determines damage damn it.
That revolver firing the same rounds as the normal pistol does the SAME damage in real life.
The revolver just has to reload sooner.

You're surely mad. The gun surely determines damage too. At least in terms of accuracy and a shape of a barrel.

And in case you're too far away from us in your computer reality, bullets in real life cannot do the SAME damage. All depends on the space a bullet hits, on physical stats of a person being hit and on some totally random values like luck.

Deon's right. Muzzle length is or should be one of the determining factors, not just the size of the bullet.

Why? You have to cock a hammer to rotate the cylinder. In "common" pistol you just press a trigger.

He means that a revolver you typically have only six shots (less if it's one of those old pepperboxes, more if it's an old seven shooter). Comparatively, the Glock 17, to give an example, has a 17 round box magazine, and even the HK USP has ten cartridges in the magazine.

Ah, I thought about a time between bullet shots, my bad.

And I agree that revolver is a bit too powerful in comparison to a pistol, but it's a game, come on :P.

you can also put one in the chamber, something you cannot do with revolvers.

About 4.11, the non-installer version of the game does not work at all for me, there is a "Rogue Survivor encoutered a fatal error." window that appear.

The problem is that the RogueSurvivor.exe executable is in a "Release" subfolder.
If i move RogueSurvivor.exe to the main game directory (in the same folder as RogueSurvivor.application, RogueSurvivor.exe.manifest, it works perfectly.

So if you download the non-installer version and encounter a fatal error at launch, be sure to move the RogueSurvivor.exe out of the "Release" subfolder and put it in the same directory that contain the files i mentionned.

Muzzle length only determines how far the bullet will travel before the gases leave the barrel.
But generaly the way to determine "damage" a gun does would be some mathmatical mess of muzzle velocity,distance traveled,force of impact and materials slowing the bullet down, also type of bullet would also do a number, like armor piercing rounds, full metal jacket etc...
You would be right to say that the gun does have SOME effect but it's not the gun that would physicaly do the damage.
Because you don't shoot a gun at someone, you shoot a bullet out of a gun at someone.
It's like saying your fist does the damage when you stab someone with a knife.

I try to get this game but mcafee started to flip out over the download has illegal stuff inside?
this rarely happens to any of my past downloads of dwarf fortress and indie game yet some how flips out over this zombie rogue?

Hi guys, played this game since Alpha 4.0, I always had plenty of food nowadays, just get light eater and hauler whenever you have the opportunity.

Also btw, the power of your fist also adds to the damage of the knife, and so is the revolver methinks.

But there can't be much difference, the main damage dealer with guns though is the bullet, though some shotgun butting would be good too :)

Save often, it's the only way to remedy freezes.
It also only seemed to freeze on my first 6 characters.
Also what version of W.7 are you running?I am running ultimate so that might be why mine hasn't been crashing too much now.

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Let's stop offtopic about guns and fists, it's obvious that game mechanics are not totally related to reality :).
In reality not the gun does damage, but in the game the GUN does damage because it's a gun's value. I doubt Roguejack plans to revamp current weapon system. It's very basic now. I could argue that "strong" perk should add another inventory slot, but it's not happening because it's a game.

I've been enjoying the new less buggy version so far. I've got no freezes yet.
